Let's Cook Something Up! - Planet 9 Cookbook!

Aug 05, 2014 - 8:03 AM - by K-Man S
Dear Planet-9 members, we are trying something "new" and "different" this year as a fun project for our members. In the past we had held photo contests and created calendars from them, well until last year when Porsche decided it owned the rights to all of our own personal photos and instructed places like Café Press not to print our calendars. So we thought we'd try something new this year. Instead of a calendar we are going to be creating a Planet-9 Cookbook! This will give our members a chance to submit their own personal recipe(s) as well as an image for the food item submitted. Could you call your chili recipe "Cayenne Chili" and take a picture of the bowl of chili on the hood of your Cayenne? I don't see why not. Creativity is up to you! This is an excellent opportunity to get other family members involved in your hobby by helping you submit a recipe. We are going to be creating our cookbook using an online tool through Heritage Cookbooks, here's how it works:

GT4 - Open Letter to Porsche

Jul 21, 2014 - 1:13 PM - by K-Man S
We all know that Porsche monitors this website (yes we see you PAG and PCNA people ) and that's OK, heck I've had Porsche employees tell me they've learned things they didn't know even while working for Porsche. Knowledge is a good thing. Given how much speculation there is around the upcoming Cayman GT4 variant I thought it might be nice if those of us here at Planet-9 provided some input to Porsche in this topic thread. Sure, it might be too late to make any major changes to the vehicle, but you never know and it doesn't hurt to try. If you were sitting across the table from the planners at Porsche and giving them your list of "must haves" or "must NOT haves" in the new GT4 what would they be? Hopefully the individuals from Porsche who monitor this site will read this topic and perhaps have a... [Read More]

DSC Group Buy NOW AVAILABLE for 987.2

Jun 04, 2014 - 12:15 PM - by Harris@TPCRacing

TPC Racing is proud to announce that our Dynamic Suspension Control (DSC) computer is now available for the 987.2 Boxster / Cayman / S model cars! For 987.1 cars, we do have the DSC available, but the Gen 1 cars have a 2-axis accelerometer and the unit requires a 3-axis accelerometer. We have a 3-axis accelerometer for the 987.1 cars, but they are still in production and we will let everyone know when they are available.

The DSC computer is a plug-and-play unit that is very easy to install. The DSC computer replaces the PASM computer which is located at the foot well of the passenger side of the car close to the door. The installation will take you one to two minutes to complete.

The computer offers three modes. Mode 1 is more for... [Read More]

Macan Launch Event

Jun 06, 2014 - 4:21 PM - by K-Man S

I have a confession to make, I didn’t want to like the Macan, but I do. Maybe I thought Porsche didn’t need a small SUV, or that Porsche should stick to sports cars and develop a GT3-like version of the Cayman, or maybe it was because I had purchased a small SUV 18 months ago and wasn’t happy that the Macan wasn’t available back then. Whatever the reason was, I just didn’t seem to have much interest in the Macan. I watched the debut with only mild interest and didn’t even pay that close of attention to the specs. So when my local Porsche dealer – Aristocrat Motors – sent out Macan launch event invitations I think mine ended up in the round file. Although I took time out last night to in fact attend...
