GT4 - Open Letter to Porsche

Jul 21, 2014 - 1:13 PM - by K-Man S

Knowledge is a good thing. Given how much speculation there is around the upcoming Cayman GT4 variant I thought it might be nice if those of us here at Planet-9 provided some input to Porsche in this topic thread. Sure, it might be too late to make any major changes to the vehicle, but you never know and it doesn't hurt to try. If you were sitting across the table from the planners at Porsche and giving them your list of "must haves" or "must NOT haves" in the new GT4 what would they be? Hopefully the individuals from Porsche who monitor this site will read this topic and perhaps have a... [Read More]

DSC Group Buy NOW AVAILABLE for 987.2

Jun 04, 2014 - 12:15 PM - by Harris@TPCRacing

TPC Racing is proud to announce that our Dynamic Suspension Control (DSC) computer is now available for the 987.2 Boxster / Cayman / S model cars! For 987.1 cars, we do have the DSC available, but the Gen 1 cars have a 2-axis accelerometer and the unit requires a 3-axis accelerometer. We have a 3-axis accelerometer for the 987.1 cars, but they are still in production and we will let everyone know when they are available.

The DSC computer is a plug-and-play unit that is very easy to install. The DSC computer replaces the PASM computer which is located at the foot well of the passenger side of the car close to the door. The installation will take you one to two minutes to complete.

The computer offers three modes. Mode 1 is... [Read More]

Macan Launch Event

Jun 06, 2014 - 4:21 PM - by K-Man S

I have a confession to make, I didn’t want to like the Macan, but I do. Maybe I thought Porsche didn’t need a small SUV, or that Porsche should stick to sports cars and develop a GT3-like version of the Cayman, or maybe it was because I had purchased a small SUV 18 months ago and wasn’t happy that the Macan wasn’t available back then. Whatever the reason was, I just didn’t seem to have much interest in the Macan. I watched the debut with only mild interest and didn’t even pay that close of attention to the specs. So when my local Porsche dealer – Aristocrat Motors – sent out Macan launch event invitations I think mine ended up in the round file. Although I took time out last night to in fact attend... Swirl Tolerance...
Must maintain a perfect/mirror finish ALWAYS!
Only tolerate swirls in inconspicuous places.
If I don't see them from 20' they don't exist.
I don't care how the finish looks so long as it drives!
