Nice car!

Is that Liberty Village?

Classy chassis! Love monochrome themes, they go nice with blondes, redheads, brunettes ...

Weird question... did Porsche drop the headlight washers on this generation or are they only for certain trim levels? I don't see them in front of the headlights on your pictures.

Beautiful!

Headlight washers are evil, so be glad you don't have them.

I take all the text I can from my cars. I like clean looks. If it were my car right now I'd be thinking how to get rid of PORSCHE letters :) But that's just me.

EDIT: Can you get rid of PORSCHE on 718? Is it sticked on top or set in plastic and non-removable?

As noted in the followup comments, it's good, very clear but not $5.5K CDN good... it's not loud enough to deliver at >100km p/hr with the top down. The problem is I was looking at a $4K aftermarket job and my rep warned me they have often had to turn down electrical related warranty coverage due to this... I buckled.

The Burmester (in the Boxster) is WAY better than the Bose but not proportional to the price diff. The speakers behind the seats are pathetic and weak, the rest of the speakers spectacular. I'm a former musician so I may be pickier than some and place a higher value on sound quality than Joe consumer. All said I'd probably go Burnester again (assuming Porsche offers a NA6 in a future Boxster variant) but for most it's probably a waste of money.

I feel the same way about audio in my cars. Back when I used to own an Alfa Romeo I had an in-dash DAT player installed so I could listen to the mix-downs of my music. That was back when I lived in Cincinnati. I remember the installer told me he only knew of one other DAT player installed in a car and it was for Eric Kunzel (conductor of Cincinnati Pops Orchestra).

The only frustrating thing about Burmester option is it is almost impossible to find in a used 981.

Headlight washers are useful on a winter-driven Porsche where the front of the car is assaulted by snow/dirt/slush. I probably only use them 25 times a winter, but it's SO nice to pull out and pass a car on the highway that's throwing up all kinds of muck, then blast the headlights clean. Yep, uses a lot of washer fluid...but it beats driving semi-blind at night in the winter or having to stop at a gas station and do a cleaning when it's -30 outside.

I'm with you on the door decals...I think it looks much cleaner with them removed.

Thanks, [to me] it looked like one guy designed the car then another fellow signed it

Headlight washers:
100% agree on winter driving. I can't speak for Porsche as this is my first. Did they have separate control from the windshield wipers? My beef with 5 BMWs is that they all decided when to fire the headlight washers (off the windshield switch) and they did it very liberally. I won't drive without a clear windshield - in the middle of summer I would trigger the wiper quick/spray to eliminate whatever was bouncing light everywhere and a few hundred ml of fluid would be discharged on the headlights. I live in Canada and appreciate the headlight problem but BMW's solution was to act like I was in a salt/dirt headlight apocalypse every couple windshield cycles.

I'm similarly glad I have the headlight washers and yes, the girl looks sweeter without the tats.

I had a 2014 Boxster and got my 718 two weeks ago. I had it in a detail shop for 3 days to have xpel put on the complete front, mirrors and rocker panels and then the whole car coated with Sapphire V1 ceramic nano coating. Last weekend Stephan from mods4cars used it as a test vehicle and installed the smart top. It is unbelievable to drive it vs my 981. The 718 is more fun to drive in all aspects. I know some don't like the sound, but I do. At low RPM, I think it sounds nicer than my 981 and that instant power at low RPM is absolutely amazing. It just seems like it is always ready to go full bore. To me it really drives like a true sports car. For those that sound makes a sports car, then they should get a huge stereo system and put the sounds they like on it and for them, they will have the ultimate sports car, but if you like a sports car for its driving quality, test drive the 718 before you berate it. I will put some pictures on now and am going to take more tomorrow. My config is
Lava orange,Black top, Leather Interior in black, PDK, 20” Carrera Classic Wheels, WheelCenter Caps with Colored Porsche Crest, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane ChangeAssist, Heated Multifunction Steering Wheel, Rear and Door Model designatedPainted Black, Supplemental Safety Bars in Exterior Color, Power Steering Plus,Navigation Module, GT Sport Steering Wheel, Interior Package Painted, PowerSport Seats (14 Way) with memory package, Voice Control, Headlight CleaningSystem Covers in Exterior color, Premium Package Plus.

It's entirely personal choice and subjective opinion. That said, I think we can all agree that THAT COLOR IS PURE SEX!! Congrats. :)

A couple of more comments on my 718. A lot of the electronics have been upgraded. The blind side protection is a must on a convertible with their huge blind spot with the top up. It is nicer than what is on my Macan because the warning lights are on the windshield frame and catch you eye much quicker than those on the rear view mirrors. It seems to work at a lot slower speeds than on the Macan. Adaptive cruise control is much better than on the Macan. On the Macan if you have slowed down in the lane you are in and then pull out to an open lane and there is a great speed difference between what you are going and what is set, it will shift down two gears rev up and here you go. On the 718 because of the torque at low rpm's it accelerates very quickly but will at most only shift down one gear. The 718 also seems to start slowing down a lot sooner so you aren't wondering if it is going to slow down before it hits the car ahead. I have been using it in stop and go traffic and really like it. It will slow down and maintain your distance until you stop, if traffic starts going faster, will keep pace. If you do stop then a slight touch on the gas pedal will start it working again. You almost don't have to watch what is in front of you, only stay in your lane. Another good item is the radio. You will see in one of my pictures, but on the favorites screen you can intermix AM and FM stations so you don't have to change from AM to FM to change bands. You still have to hold the top open and close switches all the way up and down unless you put smart top on it. Why Porsche won't change that, I don't know. I have keyless entry and start and the doors unlock without touching the handle, only have your hand between the handle and door or touch the handle. The locking feature on the door handle seems to be much more positive than on the Macan. On the Macan I sometimes have to touch it a couple of times to get it to lock. Every day I seem to learn something new. As you can tell, I am a little (really a lot) biased towards the 718 vs my 981. Some more pictures.

I have to make a hard 90 degree turn and park as close as possible to a concrete wall, so I have to have both hands on the steering wheel most of the time. I also like to get into the Boxster with the top down and get out with the top down. With smart top as I approach the car I press the fob open button three times and by the time I am at the car, the top is down and I get in. When I park with the top down, I hit the close button, turn off the engine and get out of the car as the top is closing. If I don't close it before I get out I press the unlock button twice and the lock button on the fob once and the top comes up and the car locks. If you are driving below 30 MPH, just pull up on the open or close button and everything is automatic. Smart top is just one the aftermarket options that is very nice for a lot of people. For the BMW people, I think they have a module for your cars also. Check Mods4cars and or smart top and see.
