So I guess what's needed is a plug into ports 42 and 34 that can receive either the native leads or the smart top leads?

It's been long enough since I built mind that I'll have to get it tomorrow and post a picture. It is a connector that is basically the same as what's on the smarttop and jumpers the right leads, but I can't confirm your specifics from memory.

    Re: Odd power outlet behavior

Here are some pictures of the two jumpers I've built. One used a wire wrap socket, the other used a socket intended for soldering, but I tried wire wrapping it. I think the wire wrapped one is the one I stuck with.

I might be able to dig up where I ordered the parts from.

    Re: Odd power outlet behavior

I'm not savvy enough to sort out how that fits...mind providing a bit more detail?

    Appreciate the effort!

I was thinking more along the lines of just building a connector from the blue block that could fit either the native leads from the car, or the smart top leads, and then the car leads would connect as per the instructions, using the same little plastic connectors. Clearly a more simplistic approach, but would work well enough, no more fiddling with the Tyco pins.

    Re: Odd power outlet behavior

To use my stub, I would unplug the wire from the Smarttop, and plug that wire into my stub. Don't recall enough to follow your idea, sorry.
