    TP Volume

I have the Bose audio system, one setting in there is "TP Volume" Never mind, I RTFM and found out it is Traffic Program for traffic alerts. Wasn't in the "Good to know" app or at least I couldn't find it there. The actual PCM book had it.

Actually, I RTFM and found out it refers to "Traffic Program" which is a function of the tuner where you receive Traffic information. Thanks anyway.

    Re: TP Volume

Ooops. You may be right. I removed my stock headunit so long ago I forgot what it was. Sorry. I think TelePhone was just one of the guesses and that stuck in my brain - along with lots of other useless info. By the time I saw the correct answer I had already replaced it with a real NAV/radio/BT/iPod/SD/USB player.

    Re: TP Volume

Is this the traffic alert that requires a subscription?

If it is, there's not much point in adjusting the volume for a service you don't have. If it's not a subscription service, I haven't a clue how it works.

If I remember right this is used as part of the RDS radio system which started in the early 90's, you press TP and then when you are travelling around and a traffic announcement is made by an RDS station in your area no matter whether you are listening to a CD/MP3 or another radio station it will switch to the announcement. Hence, why you may want to adjust the volume when this change occurs ..

As far as I know it is not supported in US, just Europe.

Thanks folks. Whichever one of you is right, it doesn't matter to me since I do not subscribe to XM and am in the US. And, if anyone searches for TP Volume, it will come up as a result.

Correct. One of the things I miss driving here. And it worked well during my European Delivery (of course I understood it too ).
