Not sure that PDK really adds anything significant to the price of a used one. In the future, I see 6MT's actually being the pricier option. But while still in the CPO window, I haven't seen the extra $3500 in resale than PDK costs initially.

Oh my. Heated seats in Florida because of a few mid 50 degree days per year? We wear short-sleeves in that type of weather further up north...

Even on my daily driver I don't use the heated seats until the temp swings below freezing and I only leave them on for about 10-15 minutes until they get hot. Ventilated though, well worth the price.

It doesn't look like particularly good deal... As sometimes you can get NEW end-of-the-year 981S for 12-15% off, which brings it awfully close to this price, if you skip the options. I.e bare bones new 981S boxster S, with very good deal would be around $54K

    Here's '15 S with 5K miles for $49K... https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...6604/overview/
No matter where you are - you can drive car back or arrange delivery and still probably be under 51K

Turns out that Colton has $54k into the car? Said they would rather auction it before taking my offer. The previous owner must have gotten a killer deal when he turned it in!

Still haven't heard back from the online sales manager on the white one. Put in an offer, kbb price, at 10:30am today. Figures I would have heard back.

Re: Good deal on Boxster s?

To follow up on adding SC or the mode, to a 981, I don't think it's possible. Never heard back from the dealer after I gave them the VIN. Also read this isn't possible. Big bummer. I don't foresee needing it much, but can the same style driving be done with manual mode on the PDK?

Re: Good deal on Boxster s?

Couldn't make a deal on the white Boxster. They want $50150 and won't match Hickory, NC trade in value on the Cruze.

$50k for a 2013 with 24k miles on it and no performance options seems rediculous. I think I'm going to rethink things for awhile. This is definitely not what I had in mind when I first started planning this out. Either the market has swung or dealers have been passing the pipe around.

Thought this was the time to buy? Just can't stomach paying so much more than kbb and the others suggest.

Just be patient. I looked every other day for 3-4 months before making my purchase and found just the right car.

2014 Cayman S with 24k miles but no CPO for $48k 6 months ago. (See sig for options, it was 81k sticker).

Decide on the options you want to find in a used 981BS then ONLY look at those cars or ones missing maybe 1 option you can do without. Be patient, keep an eye on cars that peak your interest but are too much $$ (dealer will drop price as they sit on the lot).

    Best of luck!

Wow, another great deal. I guess you're right. I'll just have to watch a few for awhile and wait. Either price comes down or they are really worth the asking price.

CPO car at a Porsche dealer will add at least 2-3k to the price. For a lot of buyers, CPO is reassuring for peace of mind in case something catastrophic happens to the car. These cars are quite expensive to service and very expensive to repair. You are also better off selling your trade either privately or to Carmax to get a better price.

For sure! On my last car after hearing an (simply depressing) offer from the dealer - I listed it on craigslist and sold for very fair price on in one week.

I was going to give carmax a shot no matter what since there is one in my town. Just figured they would be as bad as the dealer.

Privately is hard for me since I work in another town and stay incredibly busy. Might have to back up and punt though, if I'm going to make this whole dream car thing happen on a budget.

Take your time you'll get there. Have you considered a 987? You'd have enough cash leftover for any repairs. I drove that Spyder that is on consignment and it is a beast.

MSRP on my 2014 Boxster was $70k. PDK, Bose, heated and cooled, 19" wheels, etc.
it had 22k miles and looked perfect. It was a trade in for a Lexus and they had it for 42k. They took $39.5. Even better is it sold late when new so still has a full two years left on warranty.

It drives amazing and is the exact color combo I wanted. It took over a year to find it since I only wanted to buy local around Dallas. Not a lot of red ones pop up and it's what I wanted. Couple did but beige interior dash is terrible with reflection into the windshield. Avoid it for sure.

Do a search for 2014s on cars.com and sort by cheapest. You will see some deals for sure, avoid the shady dealers.

Have you tried CarMax? They have a few low mileage 981's under $50K. CarGurus is also a great site if you are looking for a deal. Expect a lot more cars to hit the market in spring, just be ready to jump when you find what you are looking for.

Re: Good deal on Boxster s?

Looks like I may be joining the club, guys. The Atlanta dealer, with the 2013 white Boxster S, is now within $200 of my total offer.

I've put my bank on notice to start the loan process. What are some other things that I should do to be ready? Just want to make sure there isn't something hidden that will pop up here.

They gave me the cpo report. Looks good, I guess.

Any booby traps to look out for on a first Porsche?

I would have it independently inspected. Find a mechanic in the local pca website.

Not IMO, the CPO is pretty good as is. I didn't bother having my CPO BS inspected by a mechanic until I took it for the state inspection to get tags.
