    Good deal on Boxster s?

Ok, so I'm considering pulling the trigger on my first Porsche and found one a good ways away from me.

    https://porschehickory.com/inventory...14+Gray+879336

Seems good except for the higher miles. They are hard to budge off of their price. Is it a good price? Worth driving over 500 miles for? It's decent on options.

    Thanks!

    Matt

The price seems to be what is projected by Edmunds and KBB for a 2014 with those options. If it is in good condition and you like the options and colors, may not be a bad deal. Miles are a trifle high. If you could get it for 50k....

The mileage is causing me some grief. They feel like it's undervalued, a lot! Seems like it should be priced around $51k to me. Their dealer fees seem high at $700 too.

    I'm thinking it's an ok/fair deal. Not a good/great?

only option I do not care for is the multi function wheel, if you like the color and the options offer up $ 49,900 if they do not take it go silent for a week and see what they come back with ,winter is not an easy time frame to sell a convertible

The multifunction is a compromise as is no sport exhaust. I'm thinking that to take a car with that many miles and that far away, I need this to be a good/great deal. To be fair though, would $51k all in (minus taxes) be a fair offer? Would that get you to drive (going to trade my wife's car) 530miles one way?

They have another 2014 with 8500miles and loaded with options for $55k. That's a little over my budget though. Not sure why they only place a few grand between these two.

That is my dealer and I am very good friends with the sales manager. I was up there Wed and spent time looking at a Macan GTS. It is a pretty good drive for me, I have a dealer in Charlotte but me and a buddy have bought all our cars from them because we like them.

I can call Caleb and ask him about it. I haven't sat in that one but I have seen it.

Sure you can't spring an extra $10K for this one?

    https://porschehickory.com/inventory...etallic+879338

That has a nice mix of performance options on it and much lower mileage.

Definitely nice but way over. Trying to ease into this whole Porsche thing :-)

In the LA area, they were selling some CPO punched 981's for anywhere from 12%-20% off msrp last month. Without even mentioning anything, an SA offered 10% off before I haggled it down to 20%

I read all these good stories of people getting great deals and can't help but feel disappointed. Last month, I had a dealer knock $5k off on the first request. That car had a lot of nice options and fewer miles. They immediately came at me with $49.8k. I couldn't get set in time for it and it sold when I came back. It was also a lot closer. Bummer.

I think I'll pass on this one, unless they make me feel like I got a great deal. I feel like I'm getting hosed a little. If this car had a lot less miles or sport exhaust and sport design wheel, I might feel better. This car has been for sale for months now with no takers.

Am I in need of a reality check here? I don't want to come off as an a-hole.

The mileage on the 2014 wouldn't bother me...in fact, I'd rather one with a bit more than "normal" mileage of 5k a year than one that hasn't been driven. They know that with the miles, no PSE and MF wheel it's going to be harder to sell. If you're ok with the car (keeping in mind Sport Design wheel and PSE can be added) I'd offer 'em $47k and see where that goes. I'd be surprised that once they had a real offer on the table, they didn't come back with a counter.

Beyond an overrev report, there are few absolute indicators of a car's condition better than its mileage. All parts wear with use, and I have yet to find a Porsche part that is cheap.

I'm just hoping that anything big that pops up will be covered by the CPO warranty.

The dealer seems to feel that the options are pretty valuable.

I'm thinking that the salesman, Colton, would choke over that :-)

I've gotten him down $500 over two days of talks. Got to hand it to him, he's tough.

Dude, if you like it buy it...the only opinion that matters is yours. Everyone dies; not everyone lives.

I know that dealer and been in Hickory.

    Way. Over. Priced.

That car has too many miles. Max I'd say is 40K...maybe 42k. He bought it on auction for about 35k.

FWIW, i would try to spring the extra 4K for the lower mileage car. If you are spending so much, what is an extra 4K?
Also, if the car with 29k miles has been sitting for a while, surely they will be motivated to take 50k? Also remember, adding the sport exhaust is at least 3k. PASM is another popular feature.

Seems to be missing heated and ventilated seats. Not sure how much I would miss those, but kind of sucks not to have them. I love my heated seats in my Lexus as I have sculiosis just enough to give me a sore back all of the time. Heated seats makes it all a tad better. :-)

Been plenty of times I'd have killed to have ventilated seats, but figure I could live without it.

Edit: I see heated seats in the pictures.

So what would you guys offer on the Low mileage one?
