Now here's Edmunds quoting a 5.4 second zero to sixty time. I've seen probably a dozen quotes all the way from 4.9 to 5.4 seconds. Can anyone make sense out of this?
Check the Files section for the official Porsche stats on the car, there is always what Porsche quotes and what reality is and almost always reality is faster.
Porsche quotes 0 to 60 at 5.1 and 0 to 62 at 5.4. Must be an extra shift or something. U.S. data is always the 5.1 while Euro publications / Frankfurt show it at 5.4. Given that the Boxster S is at 5.0 in most mags and Porsche I think says about 5.5, I would expect the Cayman to be around 4.8 or 4.9 when tested finally tested by mags.
There are also differences between different cars and even different timed runs by the same driver in the same car.
A .3 or .4 second variation in 0-60 times is normal.
