    Can't Decide which Stripes?

So I'm contemplating changing the stripe that is currently on the 987.1 this Spring but can't decide which to go with. I'm hoping maybe you all can help me decide.

The choices are (see attached pics):

    1) 911R Stripes
    2) Twin Racing Stripes
    3) Single Strip (what you currently have)

Whatever the choice, it'll be in matte black to match the Cayman R side stripe.

Please help me decide. If you have other suggestions, I'm definitely open.

    Thanks!

    Re: Can't Decide which Stripes?

I have the same color scheme and I often wonder which stripes to go with.
i like the single one you have but since you are looking for a change,I voted for the twin stripes in the middle.

While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, why imitate a 911R? I don't see the point in that. #2. but in white on GR.

If I did not have door stripes, I'd go for 2 down the center. For me, the door stripes are enough.

It's almost like looking in the mirror. I see you have nice taste in mods.

I have to agree with you on imitating the 911R but that wasn't my intent. I'm just looking for something different. I figure this is cheaper than buying a another car.
As for the white, not a bad idea but that means I would have to change some other things to complement it. Not sure if I'm up for that....yet. LOL

As much as I like the door stripe by themselves, I'm always looking for something to make the CS even more different without going overboard. Of course if you talk to my wife, I've already gone overboard. LOL

Thanks to those who voted and provided input!

I like this layout, would only do center stripes, I think would look great in different color combinations.

Agreed. Unfortunately this looks a little too complicated for a DIY. I wouldn't mind having the car though. LOL

I've never seen the 911R stripes before in person, so that's what I'd go for if you're looking for change.

    Can't Decide which Stripes?

987 stripe kit 008 is my favorite, and what I currently have on my 2007 Cayman S.

Kyle I have a Dark Blue Cayman S 2, do you have any more pictures of the double stripes on black or dark color Cayman's, I am really like the silver and red in the photo.

    Re: Can't Decide which Stripes?

I have done a few different color combinations on my car, including wrapping the car different colors. I have flipped back and forth between the single stripe and the double stripe. I definitely like the double stripe more.

I very excited about changing the look of my car since my last one was yellow, I have felt my car is a little plain, I ordered stripes about about a 10 days ago, hope to have them by this weekend to install, I am a little nervous about the roof stripes, since I am such a perfectionist.

Put a few drops of baby shampoo in your spray bottle. It will increase drying time, but will make the install more forgiving of bubbles. Just wait 10 mins or so after applying, before removing the transfer tapering using soap.

For placement, of center stripes, fold each end of the stripe in half and put a little crease or mark at the center. Line that up with the center mark on your front and rear windshields for placement.

For placement of the 911R style stripes, they go right to the edge, and are made from air release wrap vinyl. Just tape it in place and apply half at a time.

That's one of the reasons I was hoping the 911R would win the poll. LOL

I was initially nervous as well but it really isn't that bad. Good luck and be sure to post some pics!
