The TT-RS (AWD) has a 5 cylinder 2.5 liter single large turbo to produce 250kw (335hp) @ 450Nm of torque, 0-100kms in 4.6 seconds
My 6MT Gen 2 Cayman S with a Softronic Tune produces 250kw @ 390Nm of torque.
I could see from my rear view mirror the Audi was obviously nose heavy by the way it was sinking its nose into the corners.
The Cayman was flat and composed, this was to be expected, also I might add the factory LSD on the Cayman is brilliant for this type of driving, ok it may not be a motorsport pedigree LSD, but it just works brilliantly as a street package.
What did take my surprise was the pickup the flat-six had over the 5pot turbo on the straights. Truly past 5000RPM on this car is freakish because the momentum gathers rather quickly whilst up-shifting through the gears. I'm thinking the 6MT gearing is superior to the Audi's 6MT, I'm not sure what it was, but the Audi was no match to the Cayman @ WOT. I simply wasn't expecting this. Anyhow I thought I would share my experience, it was a FUN filled day.
