Bose surround setting keeps cutting out...

I have a 06' Cayman with the Bose 10-speaker system. Does anyone else have their Bose system cutting out the rear speakers in surround mode intermittently? It seems that mine will cut out the speakers and just have the two in the dash on quite a bit. To me it almost seems like it happens when the car is jarred such as a bump in the road or changing gears/breaking. I took to the dealer and they claim that this is normal for the surround setting. But it seems to me that it happens quite a bit, and for various amounts of time it'll be out. Sometimes it seems up to a minute. That just doesn’t seem right. I was thinking I had a bad amp. Warranty expires in a week or so, so I'm kind of in a bind. Thanks.

When I had my 05 Boxster, the radio signal would often drop out of the surround mode. I do not think the back speakers cut out but there was a big difference in the sound that was detectable. This way only happening with the radio, CD's were fine. I do not have this problem in my Cayman.

There is a mike in the steering that is used to raise and lower the volume of the stereo as a function of background noise, and it has various user programmable sensitivities... Perhaps you can view the CDR-24 manual and turn this feature off and see what happens... (The radio manual insert can be downloaded from the files section if it's not with your main manual).
