How do I remove the radio?

I would like to install my Sirius radio myself and I have looked through several posts searching for photos/instructions on how to remove the radio (I have the standard radio, 08 model). I cannot seem to find instructions for doing so. Can anyone advise (I'm not too handy, sorry) how to do so? Also, how do you hook up the fm adapter? Thanks for your help!

    Hi Smokestogi,
You can check the articles section and there should be something there. I used the following when I installed my XM.

PCM 2.1 Install (CDR-24 Radio Removal) - My Articles

    I hope that this helps.

Thank you segue007. Did you hard wire the power? If so, was it easy?

You are welcome. Yes, I hard wired the power to a junction in the fuse box. My XM receiver only comes on when the key is in the on position. I also used this same junction for my radar detectoricon. I don't remember which one it is but you can check the article section for radar installs and find it.

    smokestogi,
Just an FYI. In order to install the FM adapter you will need some US to European antenna adapters. I found that the 2005 and Up VW antenna adapters will work. I could not find one that was specifically spec'd for a Porsche Cayman when looking but did find that the the 2005 and up Euro adapter will work.

Your local car part store should sell an item called "add a circuit" you simply plug this in place of your existing fuse for the radio. This will give you fuse protection to both your radio and the Sirius unit. You will then just need to run your 12v power from this to wherever you decide to install your sirius device.
