Congrats Chris! Glad things worked out well for you.
I just got back from a beautiful ride up and down I-95 in Rhode Island....WOW!!! In December I ordered the Softronic Flash and intake plenum and recently purchased an FVD Brombacher (M&M) exhaust. I have been itchin', to say the least, to get this baby out on the road. This morning I finished up my exhaust install and headed out. I started her up and I thought..."Did I change anything?" Very subtle sound just cruisin' around which is exactly what I wanted. Then once it was warmed up a bit, I got on it and boy did she run!!! The sound is intoxicating and the pull is fabulous. I pulled out onto the highway and opened it up and it just kept pulling and pulling. Very quickly I was up 125 and grinning ear to ear. I did a couple of fast passes by shifting down from 6th to 4th...that to me says it all...the growl of the exhaust really stands out and the acceleration is phenomenal!! Very happy with my modifications...I would recommend them to anyone.
As a follow up, I was on the SpeedArt group and recently backed out due to the obvious frustration. I want to echo the sentiments of other member on this forum. FVD Brombacher is a complete joy to work with!!! From the moment I spoke with Rhonda on the phone, I knew this business would be night and day from the previous exhaust supplier. Friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to make the customer happy. I ordered my system on Monday and had it by Friday. Now, after the order was placed, Rhonda called to inform me that the system had a slight imperfection on it and she did not want to send it. She stated that more were coming on Thursday and that I would have it early next week. I was a bit bummed due to the nice weekend coming up, but was OK with it. Two hours later I get a phone call from Rhonda stating that she had spoken with another customer who was able to wait until next week for his exhaust and that she was sending it to me!! Wow...that is going above and beyond!! Additionally, I did not have to cut pipes or wonder whether or not this system even came from M&M.
Just wanted to give everyone on this site the opportunity to share in my experience. I have no affiliation with Softronic or FVD Brombacher, but really am happy with both companies and their product. I also would like to send out my sincerest gratitude to Gatorbite for his priceless article, endless time and effort, and everything else he does to make us happy!!! If anyone has any questions of me, please feel free to ask.
Congrats Chris! Glad things worked out well for you.
That's great news and thanks for posting. I've already installed my SRP from last years group buy, and just today emailed Rhonda about an FVD Brombacher catback to complement it. Did you get the louder Sound Version (equivalent to the SpeedArt Race/Export Gator Bite reviewed) or the quieter TUV Version?
These upgrades and the research behind them would be much more difficult without the great folks on Planet 9 and similar sites sharing their knowledge, and the vendors who develop & provide such fine products & customer support (Softronics & FVD in this case). Thanks!
I ordered the sound version...I was not looking for a loud car...I want a civil Porsche until I get on it. Wow...sounds like a race car when you get on...so sweet!!! Did not notice much drone at all either...great unit. You won't be disappointed. Just call and speak with Rhonda, she is top notch.
Yeah I am excited and ironically I also have the Softronic flash (minus the plenum). Rhonda mentioned that the FVD exhaust was changed slightly to eliminate the need to cut the bumper bracket. Can you confirm?Originally Posted by USMMA89

Chris, glad to hear you finally got your car off the jack stands !!.... also happy to hear you're thrilled with your exhaust and experience with FVD. " All's well that ends well."
Dave, I can confirm that I did not have to cut anything on my 09 CS to make the FVD exhaust work.Rhonda mentioned that the FVD exhaust was changed slightly to eliminate the need to cut the bumper bracket.
I take it you are or have gone with the FVD?
Congratulations on finally getting your car off the jack stands. You have the exact set-up as my CS, Softronic, SRP and M&M catback (speedART in my case). You're description of the performance is my experience to a T--it's exhilirating! Enjoy the good weather, after a couple of weeks of spring conditions here winter came blowing back in, including 8" of snow a couple days ago. Hopefully this coming week I'll be out making a glorious noise again!
Thanks everyone!! I think everyone is getting a few more smiles. I had already cut my bumper support plate...so not sure if it would have been a problem. Funny story on that...had the system all aligned last night...and low and behold...forgot to re-install the bumper support bracket. I had to take the entire thing off to put that on. I was pissed at myself, but kept smiling just knowing I would be tearing it up today!!!
I hope spring comes blowing in for everyone. Thanks again for the advice and support guys. Keep in touch.
Great to hear the car is back on the road Chris!
How did I miss this post? Must've been too wrapped up with auto show pictures on Saturday, priorities you know!
We should focus on the F40 Motorsports open house on 5/2 as an opportunity for all the Nor'easters to gather for another exhaust shootout.
