Installed Black 2010 Wheel/center console w/ Sand Beige Interior

Well...I finally installed the black steering wheel and center console/ebrake/shifter in my 2006 CS with Sand Beige interior. I am very pleased with how it turned out. Had last week off work and finished a ton of stuff including new Racedeck flooring, 4 post lift install, new tires mounted on rear, changed oil, installed B&M short shifter, steering wheel, and center console with ebrake and shifter and finally new aluminum pedal set.

Next projects include installation of the HIP engine cover, painted manifolds, SpeedArt exhaust (enroute now), Softronicicon SRPicon/Flash, and Booth Lug Bolts....Then I will finally be done...I think.

Next step...TPCicon Turbo in a few years.

Would love feedback on the color combo.

    Before...

    After...

Nice. I see you were able to get the wheel and all. Looks really good!

Thanks, delman. Yeah...I had also picked up two black door panels, but could not find a way to disassemble the various sections of the door so I returned them. Fortunately, I live close to Porsche of westmonticon so I could pick up the wheel/airbag without needing it shipped. It's unfortunate that they can't/won't ship them.

I still need to get a black ashtray insert/cover and hand brake banana trim piece as they did not have these when I picked up the console.

So far, I'm really liking the changes.

Did you see the article for removing the door panel? It doesn't say how to remove the sections though. I also think that the whole panel in black would be too much, but a few of the sections would be nice.

I really want that wheel!! O well.

Are those pedals the ones advertised on ebay all the time? They look really nice and the price is pretty good too.

Re: Installed Black 2010 Wheel/center console w/ Sand Beige Interior

It wasn't a matter of getting the old panels off...but rather that the black panels are not in as many pieces as I expected. You have to drill out the plastic rivets on the pieces that re separate and reaffix them using new fasteners...in my opinion, not worth the time and effort.

The pedals came from Suncoasticon ($99). They look to be the same as the ones on ebay. I was hesitant to install them (didn't want to drill the pedals), but am very happy with how they turned out. They look and feel great!

I still need to order the steering wheel control module as the horn does not work with the 2010 wheel. A new module and programming is required. The connectors on the wheels are the same, but there are a few extra pins on the new wheel. According to Suncoast, the airbag works as is, but the horn requires the new module. My install has confirmed this.

    k_kush,

Wow, looks great, I wouldn't have guessed that from a description but installed the whole thing looks very good. Also, I really like the floor and lift--in fact, I'm jealous.
Is your speedART among those in the U.S.? You are really going to love it. Overall your car looks terrific.

Thanks. Yes, my exhaust is enroute to my house as I type. Should arrive on Tuesday - according to FedEx. Went out and bought a can of PB Blaster this morning and will begin the week-long soaking today.

I can't wait to get everything finished up so I can just enjoy the car.

Very nice ! I saw a tan interior with black carpets and the bottom part of the door (carpeted) was also black. It looked stunning...
You could probably extend the black a little more that way, for more contrast ! Very nice job !

    Re: K_Kush

Thanks. The pedals came from Suncoasticon and sell for $99. Installation wasn't too bad, although drilling through the bottom of the brake pedal broke 2 drill bits.

The wheels are 19" Champion RS-98's. They are very nice rims and really compliment the Cayman nicely (IMO).

Black dash-top and top of door-panels and this would be perfect. That said looks great so far. Very classy and unique.

Great job. It would look superb if the dashboard is in black. I wonder how doable or expensive that would be.
