    Smoked taillights

Has anyone taken their tail lights apart and SMOKED the inside of them?

I'm not happy with the way the clear part of my 08 Cs taillights look.

By smoked, I'm looking to have the greyish look of the older porsche lights - not the blacked out tinted look.

I was thinking of taking the housing apart and painting the chrome with a smoke color.

I have a guards red car - trying to decide between red lights and the smoked.

THoughts concerns? Anyone taken the assembly apart?

    Thanks.

    Re: Smoked taillights

I didn't take mine apart and smoke them I purchased these LED tail lights off eBay. They're all approved for use in California and was a fairly easy swap out.

    Red taillights

You can buy the red taillights on-line (a Porsche part) at a discount from what the dealer normally sells them for. They can be put in very easily and come with everything including the bulbs (just plug in and bolt down). The one I bought was for either a Boxster or Cayman:
