How to remove interior door handle?

    Hi all,

I am looking at getting some leather interior door handles for my Cayman and wanted to know how hard they are to remove?

I was looking at a tech article Door Panel Removal and it appears to just pry/pull off?

Do you think having the leather handles will look out of place? I thought the stitching might add a nice touch to the relatively plain black interior..

    Thanks in advance

If you pull on the door handle you will see a screw on the backside that holds it in place. 5 minute task max.

I think leather handles would look good. Althought I may just be saying it because I don't like the look of the painted silver in the car.

Ah I think we are talking about two different things!

I was referring to the door handle that lines up with the armrest/storage bin.. The link I posted looks like it just pulls off?

If it is the pull handle your talking about, your right, it just pulls off. If you look in the articles section under door panel removal, you should find a picture of it.

Thanks for the info, wondering if anyone has done this can confirm? Feel a bit hesitant about pulling on the handle till it comes off?!

Re: How to remove interior door handle?

I'm planning on doing the same thing.
My plan is to cover the door handle and armrest in Alcantara to contrast with the sand beige door.
I'll post pics when I get it done.

Well, an update: I got the storage bin and handle off. A pain in the a** getting the storage bin out. Not sure I'll be able to get them back in, this'll be really tough.

And another update: I had to order some of the Door Anchor Pins, a few of mine look like the messed up ones in the door removal article.
