paint pcm 3

how the heck you get it opened up so you can take out the faceplate to paint it?

It is not very easy...this is why Porsche charges so much for it as an option...I did see an article about it somewhere...try a search and I will wrack my brain.

got the front plate out but you cannot take out the buttons as they are locked from the back

since there is another plate over them and the black dots are plastic which was melted to put it together

so i am stuck here now - btw porsche wont do a pcm III paint if not ordered with the car over here

I did paint my bezel from the radio and A/C, and it was a very laborious project. The radio has some vey fragile tabs holding the bezel to the radio, this is the hardest part. Once the bezel is painted, this snaps back into the radio easily. My bodyshop painter was not happy when he saw how fragile it was. The end result is a gorgeous bezel that matches the outside color of the car.

all earlier PCMs are easiy compared to PCM 3 as the bottuns are not just clipped from inside but have been melted with plastic into the whole frame...
