There are 987 owners who have swapped the Sport Chrono guage for an oil pressure guage and just dropped the SC guage into the dash, preserving the SC functions in the instrument cluster. If you could find a 2 1/16" clock with a face that you like, you could pretty easily install it in the SC location. There is an article on how to do the pressure guage on the cayman register site.

Maybe I missed something, but why do you think the Sport Chrono Plus dial is a clock in the 981? The dial is identical to the one I have in my car and trust me....it's not a clock.

Still, I agree that I would get more use out of a clock at that location...

Found this....doubt it can be done on a 987.2 with PCM...but I'll give it a try and report...

Nope....can't be done in a 987.2 with PCM 3 - I would hope that it is possible to do this in 981 or 991...cool thing...wish I could get my wart to do more than look pretty.

They made the clock standard in the new cayenne(for us) as there isnt an easily visable clock in the middle of the car(read PCM3.1) so porsche installed one in the dash.

no idea what they are doing with 981... but as the "clock" isnt standard in 991 i dont think it will bein 981

If you look at the video, in the Panamera - the Sport Chrono "Chronometer" can be converted to run as a clock which assumes the option is present. The question is if you can do with with the Sport Chrono dial in the 981 or 991 - I checked and it can't be done with the Sport Chrono dial in my CR - the choice is not present.

The 991 I was looking at yesterday had Sport Chrono+ with the dial in a wart on the dash. I'm back at the dealer next Monday for some work, so I may have a look again.

Well, there is a digital clock right in front of you.

IMHO, analog clocks belong in Maseratis or Rollers......
