Wheel Paint Kit - Synthetic Rubber Coat

Has anyone here used this prodcut from Suncoasticon? For only $30.00 if the product works as they say I would buy 10 cans to last a lifetime. And if you have used this product how long did this last until you had to reapply. Everything to me sounds to good to be true but you never know.

I noticed this on their site the other day. I'm guessing that the kit is a rattle can of plasti-dip or something very similar.

I work for Suncoasticon, and that is my car in the photo. Painted the wheels three months ago, still looks like new. I painted the mirrors and the rear spoiler lip, went a little crazy since I was headed to an autocross.

I grew up working at a family auto body shop, I was really skeptical about this product. I tested it, and I'm now in love with the product. You can mess around with the different colors, or add top coats of gloss, pearl, gold metallic, or silver metallic.

We have also painted an entire car with this, just to test it. It's really interesting stuff. If you're good at painting, you can use this for many applications. It has a texture to the finish, and it feels like a rubber coat. It's really durable, I clean them with a wash mit or a soft wheel brush, not a problem!

So, is this different than plasti-dip? Or more to the point is it better?

Re: Wheel Paint Kit - Synthetic Rubber Coat

Clearly this is simply Plasti-Dip. I Did my stock wheels which I use during winters and have been fairly pleased. It looks "good Enough" and considering the price is not a bad value at all. It is removable which I've done once before, I noticed it is far easier to remove areas with many (4-6) coats than areas that are more lightly covered. I've found this can be a little more difficult to keep, or at least it has been for me since I'm wary of rubbing it to aggressively during a hand wash.

I've done it with and without a clear top coat and will say it looks much better and holds up better when this step is done.

I've attached a link to a picture I snapped of the first attempt (no clear coat) it looks better now, but I think this is a decent example of what the appearance is like.

I have used Plasti-Dip for one of my wheel sets. Picture below of a wheel before and a wheel after. I did not paint the insides of the wheels ( covered with paper ).
Good prep is key. For areas that need to be cleaned up with light spray, Goo Off works really well. Make sure not to get it on the areas you don't want removed as it will liquefy the Plasti-Dip.

I think I'm going to attempt to do my wheels Matte black with a red stripe. Any tips or suggestions?

Go to YouTube and search dip your car. You should be able to learn from there. Fonzie at dipyourcar has done it all.
