Question engine vibration through steering wheel

I have an 05 boxter s 3.2, 26k. I have an annoying engine vibration that transmits through the car an up the steering colum to the wheel.this happens parked ...when i bring the revs up to 2400-2600 rpm.It also is felt under load while driving in all gears, some more than others, and in 6th gear is obvious at abt 63mph.Its definetly not a wheel balence problem.

The dealer has replaced the dual mass FLYWHEEL and retorqed the clutch(warrenty). ITS STILL THERE. Whats next? motor mounts, I probably would have replaced them first.but they didn't seen symtomatic(gear lever is rock solid) doesent shake at all.

CAR GOES BACK TO THEM ON WED.10/19...They already have an attitude!

    ADVICE.....ADVICE...ADVICE.......PLEASE STEVK

Had a similar problem on 08 CS. It was the engine mount.

Re: engine vibration through steering wheel

I have this shutter that starts around 2000 rpm and stops around 2500 rpm, you can see it in the steering wheel and feel it in the car. It was noticed by the Service adviser and tech, there is a tapping sound in the same rpm range when the car is well into operating temperature.

The dealer has had the car for 3 days trying to figure it out, today they said it was the flywheel.

I notice this in my Cayman when the vehicle isn't warmed up, it disappears after awhile, once the engine has warmed.

Vibration Solved!!!!!!.......The dealer replaced all 4 motormounts. It had to be done under a time consuming appeal to Porsche N.A. My warranty had expired 9/30.....while the car was still at the dealer!

Just got my car back from service, they replaced; flywheel, throw out bearing, and 1 motormount. No vibration and no tapping sound at 2000 rpm. All covered under CPO.
