    Squeaky Clutch

When I depress my clutch pedal I can hear a slight squeak.

It's not audible if the radio is on, or when on the move, it's only on start up that it's noticeable.

Is there a simple fix, as opposed to taking it to my local dealer? The car has Porsche warranty but I doubt a squeaky clutch will be covered!

I have the same issue! With the car off and listening with my door open, it seems like the sound is coming from underneath the car someplace when I move the pedal. I might get underneath and have someone move the pedal while I listen. Might be an easy fix...

Probably nothing more than the spring... needs a drop of oil where it attaches to the clutch pedal.

    Re: Squeaky Clutch

I have this as well. It sounds like it is coming from the front but it is actually coming from the rear. I do not know the correct terminology so bear with me.

It is the arm that is at the transmission end of the clutch cable. This is found on the drivers-side of the trans. You can see it from the rear of the vehicle. I have tried spray silicone but that does not stop it.

In my case at least, the sqeaking isn't coming from the pedal area. When I move the pedal with my hand while listening to the underside of the car I can tell that it's definitely underneath there someplace.

    Re: Squeaky Clutch

I noticed a squeak with my pedal as well, but it doesn't do it all the time. I've had other vehicles as well that had the identical problem. I just spray a little lube on it, and it usually goes away.

    Re: Squeaky Clutch

If it's not at the pedal, be advised that you may have an issue with your clutch which is hydraulically connectted, i.e., there isn't a mechanical connection involving a squeaky spring or rubber grommet. I had this issue early on and it resulted in a warranty replacement of something internal in the clutch. Can't remember exactly what it was, but it ain't good. Get the to a mech quickly.

    Re: Squeaky Clutch

Any chance you guys are using aftermarket brake fluid? The squeek is fairly common for folks who have switched fluid, often reported by folks using the ATE super blue. I have Motul and notice it squeeks when I press in clutch.

No aftermarket fluid here. Guess I should take the CS to my dealership for a checkup...

    Re: Squeaky Clutch

I have a 2008 Cayman S with the same issue. I sprayed the clutch pedal from inside with white lithium grease but the sound is comming from underneath the car. I'll look under the car this weekend. Anyone find the exact location of the squeak?

    Re: Squeaky Clutch

Hope you have luck finding the cause.

It's no longer a concern as I've traded the CS for a Mini Cooper S for mostly economic reasons. Having a blast in the MCS so far though!

Never mind mot you will get over it. IF you were really serious about it you would have bought a 1275 Mini Cooper. A proper car.
Notice the non-use of capital letters in the word Mini. That is important.

    Re: Squeaky Clutch

    I have this same issue.

2 squeaks total, 1 from the clutch pedal and the other was from under the car.

Long story short, took my car to the dealer and CPO warranty fixed the issue, it was a defective throwout bearing.

The under car squeak is gone and the clutch is a little lighter now.

    Re: Squeaky Clutch

Interesting that the dealer fixed your clutch with the CPO. I am the original owner and my car is still under warranty. The dealer told me - "It is probably the throwout bearing but squeaks are not covered." If we tear down the transmission and its not the throwout but just needs grease you have to pay for it."

It's always been this way though from this dealer - never want to fix or pay for anything.
