Porsche web site.

OK, Is it me or is there something wrong with the Porsche web site? I try to go to the "Build your Porsche" section but I can not get all the way through it. It locks up just before the 1st. configuration page opens.

Bill.

It seems to be working fine now. If you have an alternate browser like Firefox you might give that a try. But, I tried it with IE and it didn't give me any problems.

I tried for months to get it to work....it never did. I'm running XP & Norton 2007 upgrade security. Used the edmonds.com site for options.

Their site is not very good. Often it will freeze when you get to "Built Your Car" section. Try often, it does work on occasion.

I had the same experience, and also used edmunds.com when spec'ing my Cayman. I still can't get the Porsche build configurator to work (though it di up until a few months ago). 987f

For me it only works in IE and I had to reinstall shockwave before that would work.

The website is screwed up, Porsche's fault.

I had the same problem. I do not exactly remember what I did to solve it, but I am pretty sure it had to do with my firewall that was blocking pop-ups.

Maybe you can disable your firewall for a few seconds when you try to access the Build Your Porsche section.

The 2D configurator worked fine for me until a couple weeks ago, then started freezing just as Daytona describes. I have tried with multiple browsers (firefox and Safari), multiple OS's (linux, MacOS X), and multiple ISP's, with exactly the same result. So their configurator is well and truly broken.

In any case, the configurators are nearly useless, because many of the interior and exterior colors are grossly misrepresentative, and because many options, including all deviations, are missing.
