Isle of Man TT

How cool (and dangerous) is this race? 37 miles per lap, 6 laps.

Valentino Rossi and Giacomo Agostini are attending this year.

Walter - don't tell me that a racing nut like you hasn't heard of the TT before? They are truly at the top of the heap in terms of having big gonads.

Isle of Man TT

If you are impressed by footage of the Nuerbergring, then you absolutely
need to watch footage from a bike doing the Isle of Mann Course.

Lots and lots of narrow passages, with close, hard walls, not to mention jumps, and running on a narrow road between the trees.

Absolutely amazin'

mike

Re: Isle of Man TT

Gnarley...I've raced motocros off and on for 30+ years but I can't imagine jumping a bike at those speeds. People die in that race all the time.

Re: Isle of Man TT

Sure I have.
I just ran across that vid and thought I would
share, and see if anyone wanted to talk about the TT.
Like you said, large on nads. But as crazy as nascar (high speeds close to solid objects).

Well the TT was part of the World Championship so lots of F1 riders ran it.
But you mean F1 car driver, and no I don't know, please tell us.

Re: Isle of Man TT

Stanley Michael Bailey Hailwood or "Mike the Bike". One of the greatest racers of all time.

One of the good things about age is memories - one of the bad thing about age is memories...I remember the wins but I remember the tragic end.

Wow, I did know. But it was a guess.

Thought so.

Much crazier than NASCAR though.

See this video of Guy Martin - fastest lap ever, I believe. Listening to his commentary shows how fear is non-existent - or at least at a level that astounds. This is part one of two - look up the second one too.

Re: Isle of Man TT

Discovery TV has a nice special going on right now. Great video but despite my years working in England it is difficult to break the spoken word. I think they said it takes three years to learn the circuit. If it repeats it is worth the time to watch.
