Aircraft Carrier used to move Cars
This is a Navy photo of the USS Ronald Reagan steaming north from California to a Bremerton shipyard for maintenance work. The flight deck has been filled with the cars of Navy personnel that will be stationed on the ship during the time it will be undergoing work. The Navy says it is cheaper to take the cars this way than charter a second ship or cover the cost of crew transportation in the temporary location.
Pretty cool...except for the exposed to salt water part...but if you gave the car a heavy waxing (I'm thinking Collinite 845 Insulator Wax) before the sailing, your paint would be fine.
