This will be my attempt to keep a blog on my experiences with my first ever Porsche - a Cayman S. I've dreamed of owning a Porsche, like many of you I am sure, for many years and now is my chance!

I hope to start off with a blog on my delivery experience, describing picking up my car (after a 4 month wait) in New Jersey and bringing it home to North Carolina.

After that, we'll see where the road leads me!

I was filling my car up at the gas station just down the street from my house a while back when I had an entertaining conversation with an older gentleman filling up his F-350 pickup at the next pump.

He walked over to tell me he like my car, and then, upon noticing the fueling nozzle stuck into the front fender, he asked if the gas tank was in the front of the...

Blue Ridge Parkway drive - end to end

Updated 09-17-2009 at 08:36 AM by Speedy

I was fortunate enough to be able to drive the entire Blue Ridge Parkway this past weekend, from it's beginning point in Virginia all the way to the end in Cherokee, NC. It has been many years since I've driven the whole length, and this was truly a trip to remember.

My wife was participating on a team running the Blue Ridge Relay Run (12 people running 208 miles from Mt. Rogers, VA to Asheville,...

Well, it's taken me a while to get around to posting (here anyway) about last weekends DE at Carolina Motorsports Park, but I've got to say it was an absolute blast! Easily my best track experience to date. (Not that there have been that many...)

I got on the road much later than I had planned, but made the 3-hour drive down to Camden, SC last Friday evening and checked into the hotel the Hurricane Region PCA was using as their headquarters for the weekend. It was nice spot and...

DE at Carolina Motorsports Park

Posted 08-25-2009 at 06:19 AM by Speedy (Life with my CS)

Well, I'll be off for my first visit to Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC for the Hurricane Region DE this coming weekend.

I'm really looking forward to it - other that what is sure to be oppressive heat throughout (it's always hot in SC!) - as it will be my first DE on a track other than VIR.

Don't get me wrong, VIR is an amazing track and I have very much enjoyed the events I have attended there.

Still, it will be nice to try and learn a new...

Wine Tour

Posted 08-25-2009 at 06:11 AM by Speedy (Life with my CS)

Well, somehow this post got saved as a Draft, and I just noticed.

So here's some late news...

The Hurricane Region PCA had its annual Wine Tour a few weeks ago and my wife and I really enjoyed it.

The group met at our usual Saturday morning coffee spot, and from there caravaned west on I-40 towards our destination wineries.
