Rattling in Engine

I was just driving around and i heard a sound that sounded like rocks rattling or rolling around in the engine. I got under the car and checked to see if there were any sticks and no. I am trying to schedule a appt with my dealer. Any ideas of what this could be please help me. Thanks. I did wash the car today but i do that 2 times a week so i dont think it is that. IT IS A 2003 PORSCHE BOXSTER WITH ABOUT 28,500 MILES
