This will be my attempt to keep a blog on my experiences with my first ever Porsche - a Cayman S. I've dreamed of owning a Porsche, like many of you I am sure, for many years and now is my chance!
I hope to start off with a blog on my delivery experience, describing picking up my car (after a 4 month wait) in New Jersey and bringing it home to North Carolina.
After that, we'll see where the road leads me!

Wow - it's been a while since I have posted to my blog...
Saturday, December 6th was my CS's first birthday (from build date - as shown on my Certificate of Authenticity nicely supplied to me during Croctoberfest! - not from the date I picked the car up) and I have very nearly 10,000 miles on the odometer now. In fact, I'm going to hit 10K on my drive home from work tonight...
I've got to say the car continues to amaze me and make me happy every time I get in it. If possible, it seems everything about it from the engine, to transmission, and suspension have smoothed out even a bit more in the last 1500 miles or so. If you've read any of my previous posts, you know how smooth I have been saying the car is - and lately it's gotten even better!
I've been keeping a running fuel average since I picked up the car, and right now it's at 19.8 mpg. My driving is probably at least 80% in the city and that also included 3 track days. Most times when I do take long trips and am able to cruise on the interstate, I'm averaging 27 - 28 mpg. I've got to say I'm very pleased with that!
The (relative) utility of the car also continues to amaze me. Today, for instance, I used the Cayman to bring home 150 square feet of carpeting!
Now I'll confess this is carpeting called FLOR (pretty cool stuff, actually) which comes in ~ 2' x 2' panels with about 10 pieces per box, but still I fit five boxes between the front and back cargo areas, and could have fit several more boxes in the back if I'd had to.
I'm trying to decide how to celebrate the first birthday of my owning the car, and I'm thinking at least a professional detailing is in order, but if I can figure out how to get it ot the track as well, that'd be even better!
Here's looking forward to many more birthday's with my Cayman!
