This will be my attempt to keep a blog on my experiences with my first ever Porsche - a Cayman S. I've dreamed of owning a Porsche, like many of you I am sure, for many years and now is my chance!
I hope to start off with a blog on my delivery experience, describing picking up my car (after a 4 month wait) in New Jersey and bringing it home to North Carolina.
After that, we'll see where the road leads me!

A short trip
I made a quick trip down to Wilmington (NC) yesterday to attend the Hurricane Region PCA Annual Holiday Party. It was my first such event and it was very nice. We met up for a tasty lunch at a restaurant along the riverfront in downtown, and then later in the day had a catered dinner together at the host hotel.
As always, I'm impressed by what a great group of folks attend these events, and how welcoming everyone is to a "newbie" like myself.
I took the opportunity to do a little sight-seeing while down Wilmington way by hitting the road very early Saturday morning and stopping in to visit the USS North Carolina Battleship memorial before lunch.
The North Carolina was the most decorated battleship of WWII and saw action in virtually every major naval campaign in the Pacific Theater. The ship has been amazingly maintained and restored to act as a floating memorial to the war and those who served aboard her. I'd highly recommed spending a few hours checking it out if you find yourselves in the Wilmington area.
(I'm having trouble uploading my pics for some reason, but you can see them in my gallery if you want to spend the time looking for them. I hope to get the problem - whatever it is - sorted out shortly...)
The only downside of the trip was picking up my first real "ding" on the car somewhere along I-40.
It left a divot right through the clear bra on the lower edge of the hood, and while it's certainly not very bad, it's still the first damage. Oh well, on the bright side I guess I've got that out of the way now!
