Planet-9 - Life with my CS

This will be my attempt to keep a blog on my experiences with my first ever Porsche - a Cayman S. I've dreamed of owning a Porsche, like many of you I am sure, for many years and now is my chance!

I hope to start off with a blog on my delivery experience, describing picking up my car (after a 4 month wait) in New Jersey and bringing it home to North Carolina.

After that, we'll see where the road leads me!

A week or so ago I was at a local State park early on a Saturday morning enjoying some relatively warm weather and a nice long walk in the quiet woods.

I made a quick trip down to Wilmington (NC) yesterday to attend the Hurricane Region PCA Annual Holiday Party. It was my first such event and it was very nice. We met up for a tasty lunch at a restaurant along the riverfront in downtown, and then later in the day had a catered dinner together at the host hotel.

As always, I'm impressed by what a great group of folks attend these events, and how welcoming everyone is to a "newbie" like myself.

A funny dream

I don't usually remember my dreams - I have them, of course, but they fade very quickly when I wake up.

The other night, I had a pretty funny dream though, and I remember at least parts of it.

It starts out, as best as I can remember, with me driving my CS backwards down a roadway through the woods. A car is coming towards me (a Honda CRX, I think!) and I speed up. By towards me, I mean in the same lane I'm in, and heading in the same direction though I am going backwards....

One year old!

Wow - it's been a while since I have posted to my blog...

Saturday, December 6th was my CS's first birthday (from build date - as shown on my Certificate of Authenticity nicely supplied to me during Croctoberfest! - not from the date I picked the car up) and I have very nearly 10,000 miles on the odometer now. In fact, I'm going to hit 10K on my drive home from work tonight...

I've got to say the car continues to amaze me and make me happy every time I get in it....

Croctoberfest 2008

I'd like to start by offering a "Job Extremely Well Done!" to Ken, and congratulate him on putting together an excellent event. I don't think we can underestimate the amount of time and effort Ken and Angela put into this event, or thank them enough!

I wish I have more time to write more about my experiences, but that simply has not been the case. I'd complain about being so busy, but after what the Smiley family has been through that just wouldn't be right...
