82k on it. Will be going to see it on Saturday. Pictures look good.

4.5 V8, Tiptronic.

Any issues with that year, that engine, that trans?

I understand that a lot has to do with how well it has been maintained.

What would be a decent price.

Thoughts?

Dealer or private party? My dad had an '06 S that we shared off and on for a few years, great car, loved driving it, never had any major issues at all. I would definitely have it in for a PPI at a Porsche dealer.

It's a dealer but not a Porsche dealer. Over on rennlist, the 04 got some bad reviews but he does have an '06 V6 with 32k on it.

Eiher one would come with a 30 day unlimited miles warranty and they offer an extended warranty for a price.

Okay, this is on hold. Place I went to tried a bait and switch and just made me realize I don't need to do this right now.

Just gonna wait until I find the right one at a Porsche dealer.

Maybe I will just wait until I find one with a manual.:)

I haven't owned an automatic since about 1980.

Too bad this didnt happen. I bought a '04 S with just under 100k mi on it months ago. I did have to fix a couple of things like rear struts, gas filter housing, etc. But I'm pretty handy and did it all myself. It's been a great 3rd vehicle for us and I'm impressed at how much power it has. We both love driving it on the weekends and I'm always finding new stuff it does that I didn't know about. A month ago I found its setup for trailering and it fit both the hitch and wiring connector of my pop-up trailer without any modification. Also previous owner installed a Kenwood stereo with adaptor for the steering wheel controls. So I just installed a rear back up camera that interfaces into the Kenwood.
Dont get me wrong there are some quirks about these that no one seems to know about that I'm sure they may have changed in the new models, like the dual battery setup. But after all the '04 is almost the first of these now standard vehicles.

I did find and buy an '09 base that was pretty well optioned. V6 with 54k at a Cataracts dealer. Thing was well cared for. Nice leather. Have had it for a week now and like it better each time I drive it.

Bi-Xenons, cornering lights, nav with nice sound system and USB port for my music on a thumbdrive.:)

It didn't come with an owners manual but I have ordered one from Suncoast. Since you mentioned it trd, is there a procedure online to change the battery? I don't need to but have heard a couple of things about it being under the drivers seat, etc and am curious as to how to get to it.
