Brake Pads

Anyone have any experience with the FERODO 2500 or the Performance Friction brakepads? The original Textar pads do not last very long when doing some trackdaydriving

I've used the Ferodo 2500's in the past - for the rears on a Mini Cooper S. I used 3000's for the fronts. Good pads, but no experience with them for the CS. Have you found any pricing on them?

I've been using Performance Friction brake pads for years and like them. I used PF 97s last year on the CS, and also on a RSA before I got the CS. Pagids are another favorite pad for many. I've tried several different Hawk pads, but didn't like them as much. From what I've read and experienced, I think you will find a PF or Pagid pad to your liking. I did notice that Pagid says not to switch their pads back and forth with another brand due to the Pagid compound material left on the rotors. Both brands are highly regarded and offer quite a few different compounds, each described on their respective websites. Pick a compound that meets your needs; mild to wild. If you haven't already, you should also replace your OE brake fluid with something more track temperature worthy to avoid brake fade (brakes "going soft").

Thank you!
Maybe the Ferodo 2500 is to weak. I dont know the price yet either.
Where do you buy your PF or Pagid pad? How much are they in the USA? I also hear a lot of good things about the PF pads. It is also important that they work on normal driving and not to hard on the rotors.
When it comes to brake fluid I use the ATE blue racing but I consider changing to the Castrol SRF because I sometimes experience fading.
Before every trackday I adding some new fluid after letting the fluid in the calipers out.

You can get an idea of the price on PFC pads from here:

You can get an idea of the price on Pagid pads from here (I've never shopped here, though, so I can't say if it's a good place or not):

I can't speak for the Pagid pads, but you won't want to run PFC pads in normal day-to-day driving. They squeal and will wear your rotors when they're cold. They're track pads not street pads.

In my opinion, there are no good "compromise" pads. There are good street pads and there are good track pads and neither is good for the other purpose. I recommend swapping our your pads before a track day and then back to street pads after you get home:

If you're experiencing brake fade, it's probably not due to the fluid, but the pads. Try a better brake pad and see if you get brake fade. For most people, ATE TYP200 and Super Blue (they're the same thing, just different colors) are adequate for the track until you get really fast. Instead of letting some fluid out before track days, just flush the system maybe every other event (there are more educated opinions on this than mine), alternating between the gold and blue fluids. They're only $10 a liter.

Several of our sponsors sell brake pads from various manufacturers, I would check with our sponsors.

Should have done that. Nils, if you do, let us know where you bought them.
