I have seen some mule pictures of a future Boxster s going around. But this one caught my eye. What do you guys think the future will be for the Boxster? Will they merge both together and this is a Cayman convertible and the Boxster will go away. Just a fun topic for discussion. Cay ster or Box man

That is supposed to be a Speedster version of the Boxster. There aren't many details available.

What we know is that the next generation of the Boxster is rumored to be way lighter and equipped with a four cylinder engine (turbo?) for the entry level version.

By making such a revolution they might differentiate more the two cars to the point of transforming the Boxster in an entire different car (more similar to an Elise) and hence the need of making a Cayman Cabriolet which will still maintain the everyday driveabilty and a certain degree of flexibility of today's 987. The Boxster would be more of a fun car, with not so many bells and whistles, but with the purest driving experience.
