PCM with Audio interface, without Navigation

I'm looking at the order guide for a 2010 base Cayman

confused by this note- Universal Audio Interface- $95*

*On vehicles not equipped with PCM, the combination of PCM and Universal Audio Interface is priced at $440 (but there is no where on the order forum to check-off this extra expense or option? No option number, just a note in the small print.)

It looks like they are saying you can add PCM for those of us who are not getting the PCM plus Navigation...(which is a few thousand dollars more than I want to spend).

But it also goes on to say that the Universal Audio Interface doesn't do much if you don't have PCM.

I'm confused? I just thought PCM came with all the new Caymans in their upgraded stereo/electronics starting in 2009?

I had also checked the bluetooth interface for mobile phone - $695... I would think that meant I already added PCM?

Thanks

Re: PCM with Audio interface, without Navigation

It is confusing. The UAI is cheaper if you have the CDR 30 (base head unit/no satnav) - that is because when it is associated with the CDR 30 all you get is the AUX input - no USB, no Ipod connector. If you order the PCM (which is the satnav head unit - can't get it without) the UAI is more expensive as it as the three connectors. On the CDR 30 - all you get is sound and volume control from your iPod - no playlists, no song titles, no control. You need the PCM head unit to get those features.

Will you listen to music or the engine......
