Porsche Racing Green
Has anyone had a chance to see this color on something other than the configurator? I'm thinking it would be killer with the natural leather interior.

I actually had intended to order one in racing green with a cocoa leather interior and cocoa convertible top, but they had stopped assigning allocations and I settled for a ruby red off the lot.

Re: Porsche Racing Green
There was a new 997 at Stevens Creek Porsche in the new green, beige interior...only saw it indoors under poor lighting, but it looked good.... but anything is better than the old green... Malocite??

Re: Porsche Racing Green
I have no idea why this color is not popular. They use it in a lot of the publicity photos. I clicked through every dealer in the country and have seen about 2 boxsters or caymans in PRG total. It seems every one is black, silver or white. I realize that the on lot orders are made to appeal to the most people, but still you would think there would be a fair bit of them out there. IMO its much more attractive than the red or the yellow of which there are a fair bit. So I wait for my ordered CS...

Re: Porsche Racing Green
I think it would look best in natural, but black would go too. What colors did you see that you thought looked bad? The only ones I can think of that would are guards red and terra cotta, and I'm thinking terra cotta would be kinda cool. You'd have Porsche BRG and essentially orange, 2 colors that have international clash implications.

Re: Porsche Racing Green
My dad has an '02 Boxster S in Rain Forest Green with black. Every time he takes it to an event he gets at least one or two compliments. The rarity and richness of the color in person really strike a note with people.

Re: Porsche Racing Green
PRG is a great color.
Most people are scared of "different" colors and simply pick silver, grey, etc. Not that there is anything wrong with those colors, but if you pick a color due to its "safe" factor
(which I have never understood) I think you are missing out.
I've owned a couple of green cars (Audi and Porsche), and each one has garnered more favorable attention than any other color I've owned, and both sold much quicker than any other color I have owned. Look at it this way concerning resale,....there are always plenty of silver, grey, white and black cars out there and many buyers for them, but there are always a few buyers that want something different and/or specific and that pool of cars is much slimmer. Clean well taken care of examples sell very quickly.
I think if more people could see them in person it would be different.

Re: Porsche Racing Green
PRG has really caught my eye, too. I was originally thinking about a more traditional color (GR, black, etc.) but when I saw PRG on the configurator, I was sold. Now I am trying to decide on an interior color. While natural or sand would look great I want something that is different. I am considering the follow interior colors with the PRG:
- Terracota (worried it would be just a shade or two from Christmas with PRG)
- Cocoa (a strong contender)
- Sea Blue (might be interesting with PRG but the salesman I was talking to thought it would clash)
I just took another look at the configurator and I don't think Terracota will be too Christmassy... not compared with Carrera Red, anyway.
Did I mention that I would add stripes like the ones on the PDE except in silver?

PRG really does look great in person, one of those colors that photos can't quite capture.

After seeing Cocoa in person yesterday at the dealership, had me wishing I had it in my car. Its a beautiful rich color that would really compliment the PRG well. I agree with your thoughts on terracota and the salesmen on Sea Blue.

Re: Porsche Racing Green
I have a model of the first gen Cayman that I have taken apart and sanded for painting. I was going to paint it white and see how I like it. Now I plan on painting it metallic green with a rich brown interior. Something to keep me busy and see how I like the combination.

Re: Porsche Racing Green
I'd like to see the Cream exterior coat. It looks kinda like the color that the Germans paint all their taxis. It would look great in red or terra-cotta.

Re: Porsche Racing Green
I agree the blue would be a tad too weird with PRG. Same with any of the reds. I liked the cocoa. But went with black interior. Dealer wanted me to go LT beige or sand or whatever. But it's not her car. Red int would be badass with cream black or even silver though.

Re: Porsche Racing Green
If I went with black I would get Basalt Black. The Carrera red would probably look pretty sweet with that.

I personally like the cocoa leather interior with the PRG. It really looks like a classic combination.
