Re: Has Anyone Named their Cayman??

It was easy for me to name mine, Silken. I think of the whole car as smooth as silk. It's curves ever so sweet and to the touch, after a good wash, are so sensual it drives me crazy! Silkens smoothness continually astonishes me every time I drive it!

Not sure why, but we always name our cars:

MB 230 C: "Herman"

MB SLK: "Ziggy" (short for Siegfried)

FX 35: "Haggis" (because it looks like one)

2.7: "Putzi" (because... well, just because.)

Re: Has Anyone Named their Cayman??

I have named cars in the past, but when I heard my daughter, now 6, say "Porsche" for the first time at age 4 in the cutest little voice...pronounced correctly, I just stuck with "My Porsche".

He would get an Italian name, though. He thinks he is a Ferrari.

Maybe, Aldo. Like Aldo Cella. He knew what women liked.

Everyone, meet Sally. My cars typically are my girlfriends... as they take my money and don't talk back. Someone once said Sally was the trophy wife of the bunch...

Re: Has Anyone Named their Cayman??

I have named practically every important materialistic thing I own since as far back as I could remember. I always name my cars and my friends cars as well. I had a Honda Civic Si named Cecilia but I called her Sisi for short. Also a Ford F-150 named Fred and a Targa named Tara. Although I don't own a Cayman I have had her name picked out for two years... Cammy the Cayman. Hopefully I will be the proud owner of Cammy within the next month or two

Re: Has Anyone Named their Cayman??

It's a family tradition to name our vehicles, and when I first viewed my new gal from above on the garage steps it had to be Snoopy, with the big eye headlights and mirror ears. My original 914 is "Dad's Mistress!"

Re: Has Anyone Named their Cayman??

Mine's call "Bleu Cerise".
I was in the special forces with a lot of tradition, we couldn't say "red" except for the color of the flag and the "legion d'honneur" medal. So everytime we had to use red we would replace it by Cherry Blue. Same thing with yellow, we said "Jonquille". If we made the mistake we had to do 50 push-ups!
Good times!!

Since my car is red, she's call "Bleu Cerise".
