Checking In - New Cayman Owner

Hello all. New owner here. I've just purchased my first Porsche. Its a 2007 Cayman S in Arctic Silver / Black Leather with 17k one owner miles. I've been dreaming of a Porsche since I was 16 in 1983.

I was lurking on the forum for about 3 weeks reading all I could and getting valuations so I could make the right deal.

Suddenly everything came together, I had a 2003 F-250 that sold in two days. The car I was looking at a dealer suddenly disappeared from Auto Trader only to reappear later that day as a private seller. Seller took it back off consignment and dropped the price $3K. I called immediately and started getting the specifics. The seller was meticulous with maintenance and told me to call the dealer and speak to them about the car to gain an independent opinion.

I hope to be a contributing member of the site.

Congrats on your new vehicle. I use mine as a daily driver and look forward to the end of a workday to drive it home.

Enjoy!

Re: Checking In - New Cayman Owner

Congrats! Cannot wait to see pics. My 2010 due in Sept is GT Silver/Cocoa I have seen GT Silver on a 911 however not seen it on a Cayman yet. Seen some pics on line however the pics on this site seem to be more clear when showing colors.

Re: Checking In - New Cayman Owner

Congrats and welcome!

What part of OK are you in? If you really want to experience your Porsche fully, you should look into the Porsche Club DE (Drivers Ed) at Hallett the first week-end in October.

Be sure and read thru the whole owner's manual - Porsches have a lot of little idiosyncracies compared to other cars.

Hey, I graduated from high school in 1983.

Pics please. GT Silver is cool.

Congrats and enjoy the swamp. This place makes your ownership experience twice as sweet.

Smooth ride you have there guy and welcome to the club. You will enjoy learning about Porsche in what I consider the best driver friendly car they make. A lot of us are die hard enthusiest who have driven just about every make they have rolled out. For myself I fell in love with the Cayman and you will fall prey to Caymanitis as well. We have a good club and the most informative site with all the trimmings to boot.

Re: Checking In - New Cayman Owner

Thanks all! I've added some pics to my first post.

Now to answer some questions. I'm east of Tulsa -- about an hour from Hallett. The DE event sounds very cool. I will put that on my calendar.

Yep that's right an F-250 with a level kit running on 35's. Now I've gone to the other extreme. I think its a mid-life crisis thing.

I pick it up tomorrow. My schedule didn't let me get it on Tuesday. Its like Christmas Eve right now.

Yeah, I just saw your new thread. Looks great nonetheless!
However, I too would bring it to the dealer’s attention.
Enjoy your ride!
