Cayman S break in

Well, this past weekend I had the opportunity to take the car to the CMP track - near Charlotte - with a group of 930 guys. The event was called "Turbopaloosa" (BTW, it is one of the most popular recent threads on the Pelican Parts forum - check it out) it was for turbo cars, but I took the CS instead of the 930. And had to swallow lots of grif because of it, all fun :-)

What a blast!

I'm personally impressed with the performance of the car; considering I've had 9 P-cars through out the years including several 911's and the 930. The CS could stay with the 930s all the way around with exception of the long straights where the turbos, some of them with up to 500hp++, would start to show the extra horses. Then on Sunday we went to the Tail of the Dragon, it got even better there... the CS was better balanced, predictable and responsive to the switchbacks and short straights of the Dragon.

By no means I'm comparing the 930 and the CS, there are two ENTIRELY different cars with different technology. But what I can tell you is that the CS is second to none.

Enjoy them and be safe.

Re: Cayman S break in

So you're saying you took it to the track to break it in?

If so, good job, that's how to do it.

Hey...how was CMP?? I'm heading down there for my first ever DE at the end of August. I'm really looking forward to it. Haven't run "the tail" yet either, but it's on my list...

Re: Cayman S break in

The CMP is awesome. Pretty good surface and fairly quick. A couple of slow turns but nevertheless pretty good overall. I was impressed with the organizational skills ot the track personnel. Joking (track manager) has it under control. I have been in several tracks and consider CMP on the upper bracket.

We can plan a Dragon run in the near future, CLT it's only 2.5 hrs from the begining of mega-fun roads.

Be safe!
