Wilhelmy-IT Remote Key Group Buy Ready!

NOTE! ORDERS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED!

Since you already reached the lowest possible price level we decided to activate the groupbuy code today.

The couponcode is: ccn0609

Please use this code during the checkout precedure.

Also please enter your Cayman Club handle in the 'remarks for us' field and select Cayman Club Forum as referrer.

The Wilhelmy-IT Remote Key for the Cayman is now Ready for a group buy! First some specs.

Regular price will be $329

If we get 10 people to buy the price will be $259 each.

Here's the kicker, the first 2 people who respond to this thread that they are ready to buy RIGHT NOW will receive their units at $259 immediately and will be two test users to run through the installation process. Meanwhile that means only another 8 people would be needed to complete the group buy. Provided that the first two individuals don't find any install problems (none anticipated) then everyone else will receive their units shortly after the group buy closes.

If you are IN on this group buy you need to respond here, if you are unsure or a maybe then please don't respond we need definite buyers to reach the target number for a group discount. As mentioned above the first two to respond as definite buyers will receive their units right away and will immediately get the group buy pricing for their efforts as final installation testers.

The finished product has been installed in my Cayman and is working perfectly. Here's a list of features for those who might have forgotten.

Fully programmable via the turn signal stalk

Beep(s) on lock and unlock

Home light on/off via key

4 second delay on front and rear trunks

windows auto-up and auto-down with key hold

doors auto lock/unlock on drive-off or key removal

side mirror lowering when car put into reverse - aids in parallel parking

I think that covers everything, if I've forgotten something my apologies. Stefan was able to get the mirror lowering feature working whether you have memory seats or not!

I do not know how long Stefan is going to let the group buy run for, but hopefully we reach 10 people and the issue becomes moot, if he gives me a deadline I will post it, I suspect it will be sometime in the next couple of weeks. You might notice from the picture that I have unit 001, the first two who reply here will get units 02 and 03.

If you have any questions, Stefan's email is info@mods4cars.com or visit their website at www.wilhelmy-it.com

I'm ready to participate in the group buy but I will pass on the offer to be a beta tester.

1 down and 9 to go, and 2 tester slots still open at the discount price. BTW, with regard to the testers, the product is done, what you are testing is the installation procedure, can you follow Stefan's photos and step by step instructions. He and I both know how to do it in our sleep because of all the testing that has been done on my car, he just wants to make sure that others don't have any problems installing the unit. In my opinion it is a pretty easy install.

I too am ready to buy, but for the same GB price I'd rather let someone else have the honor of testing the installation.

Looks like we have our 2 testers, Smounic and Fadiboy. I will be forwarding your contact information to Stefan so he can get you set up.

eecsdude,

If when the group buy closes there are less than 10 people then there is no discount, if you don't want to buy at regular price then you can drop out at that time. I have you listed though as someone who will pay the discounted price if the 10 minimum is met.

Right now I count the following:

Gene

Smounic (install tester)

STLPCA

eecsdude

Fadiboy

So that's 5 down, 5 to go! We are half-way there in the first hour! Woot!

If you look on their site at the boxster install, I think you'll get a pretty good idea of the simplicity.

So Aaron makes 6 now.

Titanic look at the Boxster install and then add maybe 5 minutes to that for the Cayman install. The Cayman (or 997 coupe) install takes a little longer because you have to separate a fitting re-route the CAN bus wires and put the fitting back together. It isn't complicated and the only tools you need to do the job are the following:

I'm sure smounic and fadiboy will be reporting their own install stories soon.

Everyboby has different priorities. For me the clincher is the side miror lowering in reverse, even for my car without memory seats. The rest of the features are nice. I think the regular price might be a tad high, but I am no marketing expert, let alone a Porsche option expert. If it was Porsche original it would probably cost much more.

I am in at the Group Buy Price.

Is this removable for warranty/maintenance visits? I see wire-taps, so I worry that it isn't as unpluggable as say their 997 convertible product.

I'm wondering the same thing as eccsdude. Does this mess with my warranty, and is the installation reversible and undetectable? If so, I'm in, but if not, I'll pass. I've already got memory seats and mirror dip. I'd like the security of not worrying that the front/rear trunk will unlock as I walk away. The other feature I want is the relock as the vehicle exceeds 9 mph, as my Boxster used to do. The beep and window control is nice, but not the selling point for me. Lemme know. Greg
