Change 06 -> 07 -> 08

Hi all,

I am a newbie here looking for a Cayman S (6spds), i cant seem to find the changes (improvement) made from 06 -> 08.. Can someone please direct me or educate me?

I guess what I really wanted to know is if 06 (or even 07) has the first year bugs, and if they were fixed in the later model.. What should i be watching out for..

Once again, sorry for the newbie question. thanks!

I think that you will find that the vast majority of the changes between 2006-2008 are cosmetic. Meaning color choices for the most part. Mechanically, the cars are the same.

I'd recommend you take a look at our FAQ. There's tons of information there, pictures, etc. That is a great place to start.

Like TX-KmanS said, I don't think there have been any significant mechanical changes or fixes from 06 on, except maybe for the trunk clunk and clutch issues in early 06 builds . . . Oh, and they did make it easier to change the cabin air filter.

Welcome to the swamp!

The 2007 is the only year with the geodezic transponder that uses microsolernic technology. Other than that, the only real differences between 2006-2008 are the options.

Here are the things I remember, out of memory:
  • In 2006 TPMS was a $590 option. In 2007 it became standard equipment.
  • In 2007, the Sport Shifter was no longer available on dealer inventory cars, but was still available on special orders.
  • PSE became available in 2007.
  • Cobalt Blue cost $3,090 in 2006. Only $690 in 2007.
  • Lapis Blue cost $810 in 2006, $3,090 in 2007.
  • Deviated stitching became available in 2007.
  • Sport Bucket seats became available in 2008.
