New to the Cayman Club
Just wanted to say "Hey" as I'm new to the club. I had a 911 S coming but, long story short, it was stolen prior to delivery , sued by my insurance company so they wouldn't have to pay. Now going to court for a ruling. Now, of course, I have less money to spend on a Porsche. I'm now considering a used Cayman S.
Stupid question time: How do like the Cayman in comparison to the 911?
Best Regards,
Dave

I'm sure there's a story there . . .
Anyway, welcome to the Club!
The Cayman vs. 911 topic has been covered a lot in the past - you might try a Search for Cayman versus 911, for some previous threads on this subject. FWIW, I had always wanted a 911, but once I got my Cayman (also bought a used CS) I had no regrets at all about not getting a 911. Best of luck to you . . .

KS-CS is right on doing a search, you'll find many many threads on the topic, as it seems to be a bit of a hot button here.
As for my experience, I test drove a Carerra and a Cayman back to back. For my taste, I liked and bought the Cayman. It felt smaller, more responsive, and more "sporty" (for lack of a better term). The Cayman does lack a bit of the grunt and throatier sound of the 911.
Sorry about you car getting stolen. Care to share the story with us?

Thanks everyone for the tips and search options. I'll remember to use those first. I'm getting pretty excited about the thought of a CS. I really like the options on the PDE-1 model with the Alcantera and sport exhaust. If not for the $10K upcharge with no HP increase? Maybe a Porsche Certified car and spend the money on a Borla exhaust, they sound great!
As for my delima, I may post a story about it but the car was paid for and before delivery, it was stolen (in transit) so the insurance company is claiming that I never has "possession" however their own policy as all car insurance policies states, "The car you have insured is covered". More on that mess later...

Was it a new car or a used car that was stolen? If it was a new car, the dealer should be responsible for either getting you a replacement car or refunding your money completely.
If it was a used car, how was it being transported? If it was coming via a transportation company, their insurance should have covered it.

It was an '06 with 2900 miles on it from an individual. As it turns out, this person was advertising the car and "scamming" people out of their money. I had to notify the FBI but even they said, "it's not worth enough for us to persue". The insurance companies arguement is I never had possession of it or had it titled so I didn't own it. They are doing this in an effort to not have to pay (even though the car with VIN was listed on the policy), thinking I won't spend the money to hire an attorney. WRONG! Going to court in October. I'm told this will set a US precident as no other cases exactly like this exist in the books.
