the fast lap and time attacks matter.. out of 5 cars in the battle the cs ranked third and by a large margin... yes i think a second to half a second is alot.. of course i don't expect it to beat a pdk 911 but if nissan's intention was to consume the cayman s then i would say it did..

Actually, who crosses the finish line first is what matters. Why, given a decent lead, would the Cayman driver push it and put the race at risk? Yes, the Z did very well, but the Cayman won the race.
An interesting analysis would be to compare average lap times. It is possible that while the Cayman was pulling away from the field (yes it was) that it cooked its tires. With street tires this will make a very big difference in the later laps.
Bottom line. None of this really matters.
