i'm sure you guys have seen this vid on youtube.. if not..check it out..
the cayman s won the battle but in reality it lost... everything is in stock formation.. and lets not talk about with this mod or that mod this would smoke that or that would smoke this...
the fast lap and time attacks matter.. out of 5 cars in the battle the cs ranked third and by a large margin... yes i think a second to half a second is alot.. of course i don't expect it to beat a pdk 911 but if nissan's intention was to consume the cayman s then i would say it did..

I don't see a link to the video you mentioned, HOWEVER if it is the one that I think that you are referring to, I have seen before it doesn't bother me at all. I don't place a whole lot of credibility or value to these kinds of videos......

Actually, who crosses the finish line first is what matters. Why, given a decent lead, would the Cayman driver push it and put the race at risk? Yes, the Z did very well, but the Cayman won the race.

An interesting analysis would be to compare average lap times. It is possible that while the Cayman was pulling away from the field (yes it was) that it cooked its tires. With street tires this will make a very big difference in the later laps.

Bottom line. None of this really matters.

the race is done for race's sake. and for providing a nice show..
at the end they show you time attacks and best lap times...
those are done individually and with several laps...

I'm not trying to say that the overall result as to overall position are wrong or were staged. I imagine that for the sake of "quality journalism," the video producers probably positioned the cars basically correctly as to overall finish position but without using any actual correct times. Then they staged the race's finish so it would appear to be ridiculously close.... VERY ridiculously close! LOL.

I can't believe that the new Carrera with PDK is slower than either of the 2 cars it finished behind on the track. (the Cayman was not the 2nd gen one). I think to avoid any embarrassments at the start, they put the 911 at the back of the grid! My assessment would be 1st position 911, 2nd - Cayman S, 3rd 370Z, last (1 lap behind!) S2000.

Ok. If u look at the end of the race. They post the individual results of their track times and it equals = 1st.911, 2nd.370z, 3rd.cayman s
and yes. Its an 08 cayman.
The only thing that matters is the time attacks and the best lap.
