I just added a paragraph on the race to Wikipedia's Cayman article:

A Cayman prepared and run by privateers Jürgen and Uwe Alzen finished fourth overall (of 220 entrants) in the 2007 running of the Nürburgring 24 Hour race, ahead of two flagship Porsche 997 GT3 RSR's, a 997 GT3 Cup, and a 996 GT3 Cup.[12] Another two privateer Caymans, entered by CSR and MSpeed, finished 22nd and 117th overall, respectively. Porsche disclaims support for the Cayman teams, while supporting some or all of the 997 teams.[13]

Encyclopedia style. Dry and to the point. But the writing is on the wall.

Looks like Alzen beat the BMW Factory sponsored Z4M Coupe, that ought to put that argument to rest now... the Cayman has claimed every head to head from street to track to race!

WOW, and look who the drivers of the Z4M were! Hans Stuck and his son were two. Hans Stuck is a world famous BMW driver and can drive the Nurburgring and set a record with his eyes closed.

Sorry to say that, but you cannot directly compare them:
Alzens Cayman has an RSR engine with about 500 bhp and more (Class SP7 max. 4.0 ltr)
Stucks BMW M4 just has only about 420 bhp or more (Class SP6 max. 3.5 ltr)

And also look at the Alzen driver, Alzen/Alzen/Mensel/Mammerow all very very familar with the Norschleife, also driving VLN series ...

So Stuck is our class SP6 and our cayman just finish 22th, but without support from the manufacturer ;o)
