Caymans at the 2007 Nürburgring 24 Hours
Live Blog Coverage
Full Event Coverage
After 2 Caymans qualified 5th & 6th, the Alzen Cayman lead the race for a while until a driver change pit stop. Both of the Caymans are still in the top 6 at this point (about 2 hours in).

Streaming video keeps dying, but the streaming audio seems to be working ok, but no mention of Caymans yet.
Keep us informed!

I updated my link above to the live video stream. That one should be much more reliable. It hasn't dropped once for me in the last few hours.
And for an update, the race is over 6 hours in and the Alzen Cayman is still in the top 6. The MSpeed Cayman had some technical problems and had to drop back to 108th place. However, they seem to have recovered and are now in 59th overall.

There's also a race position available that's updated every 20s. Caymans in 6th, 30th and 60th (or thereabouts). Didn't know there were three of them!
Thanks big time for the links!
I need to get Apple TV now to stream this to my plasma!

We need some updated information. I can't tune in with family in town. I have to respond to this thread via my cell phone. How are the Caymans doing?

14 hours to go, almost to the halfway point.
Alzen Cayman - 7th place overall 4 laps back of the leader (4th in class SP7)
MSpeed Cayman - 145th place overall (19th in class SP7)
Cayman CSR - 45th place overall (9th in class SP6)
Not sure what happened to the MSpeed crew, I missed a fair amount of the race this evening.

A little over halfway through and the race has been red flagged due to intense fog. Here are the standings for the three caymans:
Alzen Cayman - 7th overall
Cayman CSR - 32nd overall
MSpeed Cayman - 153 overall
The CSR was really climbing in the standings before the red flag but MSpeed seems to be well out of the running.
PS - Beware of the video stream if you have kids around as it has gotten X-rated for some reason. Makes me wish I spoke German, since I am confused as to what strippers have to do with racing.

Sorry for the delay - just got back.
Look at the top of the page of the video stream - 'datenbank' then 'ergebnisdatenbank' on the drop down. Don't trust the 20s update though - I find you sometimes have to manually refresh. Cayman in seventh but being beaten my a M Coupe - looks like the M might be a factory effort though????? Really disappointing to see Porsche not supporting their best car.

9:41 PDT Race Red Flagged due to Fog:
The Alzen Motorsport Cayman, hindered by a broken water hose around midnight, has worked its way up to seventh overall already.

Only 2 hours to go and a crash by another Porsche has helped move the Alzen Cayman up to 4th overall. They are looking good for a podium finish in their class at the very least. Also, the Cayman CSR has moved up to 24th overall and 5th in its class. The MSpeed Cayman is back in the top 100 at this time.
Here is a shot of the Alzen Cayman with brakes aglow:

Official timing and scoring link seems to be down or at least not responding to any request I make to it... about 30 mins left to go in the race! Wish this was on speedvision...

20 minutes left and it looks like the official results page has gone down. According to the live feed the Alzen is still in 4th overall.

And the 2007 Nürburgring 24 Hours is complete! The Alzen Cayman finishes 4th overall!!!
They finish behind 2 911 GT3 RSRs and a Dodge Viper ( ). Great race and an amazing finish for a team/car that Porsche would have preferred not to race at all.
With the official results page still down I can't say where the other 2 Caymans finished. Hopefully that will be back up soon.
Go enjoy some Ring Juice to celebrate!
