Gt3 Brake discs melted

I have installed on my 987 3.8 X51 Boxster 6pot calipers with 355mm steel discs ftom GT3. The weird thing that I am experiencing is that after 15.000km (around 10.000miles) I have half life from my pads left (original Porsche pads) but my discs are destroyed! I have huge vibrations which make replacement inevitable.

I heard from someone that I should fir again the standard discs but with softer pads, such as Pagid, so that I do not bend again my discs.

Has anybody faced similar problems with me? What is the solution??I tuned my car to drive it hard, not to take care of the brakes...

If your rotors are ruined after 10,000 miles I would guess that something wasn't installed correctly. You don't seem to be having much luck with whomever it is you are trusting to modify your Cayman. I would recommend trying someone else with more experience if possible.

Re: Gt3 Brake discs melted

My guess is your brake bias is now very much tilted toward the front, especially if you haven't added more braking power to the rear. If you're going to run that much braking power on the car, since it has a lot more than stock horsepower, then you should upgrade the entire system to GT3 specs and have the 987 brake controllers taken out, and 996 or 997 controllers put on. Brakes, especially with the eletronics involved, are not something you can mix-and-match from a bunch of different sources and expect them to work properly, you need to find someone that knows what they're doing and install a compete system with your particular horsepower, front-to-back bias, and needs in mind.

Re: Gt3 Brake discs melted

Tell us more how they are destroyed.

Are they pad-transfered - ie pad material smeared onthem which makes them pulse under braking?
Are they actually not flat due to improper installation?
So you have the stock rear brakes with GT3 setup up front?
