Harness bar for 06 Cayman S

I need a harness bar for my 06 Cayman S. After reading the posts here, I decided on the Farnbacher Loles harness bar. It turns out they lost their supplier and they no longer offer the bar. I know the TC Design bar has rubbing issues with the seat so I am not interested in that one. Are there any other sources?

Re: Harness bar for 06 Cayman S

Well there's this combo harness/roll bar from BBI:

and this one from Brey-Krausse:

However, if you change your mind about the TC Design, PM me (I have one I'm willing to sell).

I am very happy with the DCM bar. It looks and fits great.

Re: Harness bar for 06 Cayman S

You should search for some other threads. DCM is out of business for one. And if you are using a harness in PCA events, you will also need seats that will handle the routing:

Re: Harness bar for 06 Cayman S

I've had my TC design bar for more than a year and I'm very happy with it. Powder coating looks great and how can you go wrong for $500.

I have the BBI Autosport Harness / Roll bar. Couldn't be happier. They powercoat it whatever color you want.

You gave me the link to the 2 harness bars I said were unavailable or that I didn't want?

you dont really know very much from what you stated. and if you read the comments Beez, liso and others have made, you may learn something.

TCD bar has no interference with seats, unless you have OEM seats. if you have oem seats, you shouldn't be using harness. they dont work together and the discussion of why will take a long time.

Farbacher's bar is great except the little loops that hold the harness in place. those cause stress risers. the stress induced might be academic but it's a stress riser nevertheless. there are other ways to hold the harness in place.

That wasn't my intention - sorry. My point was to get you to a thread that stated that you would also need different seats, in the event you were planning on using the stock factory sport seats.

Re: Harness bar for 06 Cayman S

OP, you sent me a pm calling me an a-hole. thank you. those who frequent nor cal tracks with me all love knowing such an a-hole like myself who tries to save them some money by pointing them in the right direction!
why dont you read the comments made to you.
why ask if you dont like other's opinion or responses?
fmarshall gave you a thread that was extremely informative, maybe you should read it more carefully.

you made a few phone calls to farbacher (was it kip or spencer you chatted with?), asked a few ppl, spent a few days doing research... big deal. we got ppl here who actually bought the items, tested them, ripped them out, some happy, some unhappy, some lost money...

and quite frankly there aren't many ppl making harness bars for this car b/c the mkt is small.

and yes, i have had tons of cayman products tested on my car, failed or succeeded, and with 60k miles over three cay s, i think my words carry some wt and have seen how these cars fail. but hey feel free to do your own research and waste your own money.

and oh, yes, my comments are ignorant.
hum.. how could that be.
i had the products in my car.
you have yet to buy the product.
but no, you are more correct than i?
i give up.

oh no, does that mean you plan to break 2:00 at TH. i'll tell BOB, or potter or is it 171mph to watch for you ;-)

he and i were at SP today. 2 seconds of my pace. not sure what was going on. 171mph was slower than usual as well.

yes, i 'll be at BW. i am scared that all those socal BSR will eat us alive since it's their home track. i barely remember which turns are left or right.

Re: Harness bar for 06 Cayman S

I'm also looking for a harness bar, have also read the threads. I would like to get the DMC harness bar but haven't found a supplier yet . I'm looking at the MantisSport one, good price compared to others, but I don't know about performance or if some have found any problems. Will most likely go with that, but we'll see.

Re: Harness bar for 06 Cayman S

Mooty unforchunetely most of my goodies won't make me faster. I'm installing the Sharkwerks GT3 fire extinguisher, very pretty mount. I may have my new rollbar installed (time to finally add some safety to my harness bar) and with a little luck I'll have the Softronic flash done. I'm hopeful it will really open up my Remus exhaust. I'm looking for 2:02's at T-hill. I agree about those Socal guys but I've convinced one of them to teach me a few tricks on Friday so I can score some points later in the weekend. I hear one of those Socal guys does 2:10 in TT08.

Potter coming as well?

PS 2 seconds off your pace? so you were doing 1:48's??

Re: Harness bar for 06 Cayman S

Golfguy - TC design's harness bar is perfect if you have GT3 seats. I'll probably key mine in the car when I get the Heigo rollbar. $500 bucks and it comes with new plastic covers for the interior. Great deal

potter wont make it.

there is no way to dip below 50's in BSR. potter's GT3 barely clears 50 on a good day!

no, my best at SP was 1:56:07 in BSR, i got to 1:58:00 yesterday.
at LS i had 1:45:17
TH 2:06:50
