Anyone here going or interested? I know of several others from Saint Louis, including Paul in his Carmona Red TPC turbo w/TPC/JRZ suspension (although on street tires). I attended last year's joint Audi Club Saint Louis/KC HPT DE and they really provide a great event with an included sit-down dinner. It's an especially nice event for novices at a premier track. "Official" last day for registration (link) is Sat, May 9th, but if you're interested, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the registrar. Hope to see you there. Paul and I will be sharing one of the garages. Come by and say hello.

When are you leaving? Several of us are leaving after meeting for lunch Thu. You're welcome to convoy w/us. Let me know. HPT is a great track with more variety and more of a challenge than most of the others in the area. Hopefully I'll remember my way around since last year
It certainly is that fast - if you're in a formula race car . . . LOL.
Not the same quality video, but here's how it looks in a Cayman, with K-Man S in the instructor seat (apologize for the cruddy audio too ):
I wish I could go next weekend, but unfortunately, gotta work.
Sure seems like you were chasing down a lot of cars in that video, and in a Tiptronic no less... hmmm wonder why that was... got any footage of that 997 Turbo that wasn't checking its mirrors???
Alas I am out of town Weds-Fri or else I would invite everyone to stop by our place in KC on their way to Topeka. This weekend is my anniversary weekend, so the odds of me getting away to the track are somewhere between nil and all my stuff on the front lawn. I hope you guys have a good time and some good weather. There is another Porsche DE event in June (12-13th I think) that I am planning to attend, even if only to instruct.

Here's a better "learn the track" video with full, uninterrupted laps and a generally nice, smooth street car line closer to your expected lap times. I don't suggest you try to duplicate the DSR's laps.

Yeah not a bad depiction either although he's leaving some time on the table with his lines in a couple of corners, particularly the last one before the last mini-carousel. I think if you look closely you'll spot a yellow Cayman in the paddock... I was at that event...
Oh one other point, my wife said if people want to get together Friday night for dinner and/or drinks in KC on the way to the event that we could put something together, anyone interested???

Thanks for the invitation, but the ACNA has a Friday evening get-together for participants followed by a 7:30p Instructors meeting and an 8:00p Orientation session. Then there's a Sat evening banquet included in the event registration. Those Audi boys run a full DE weekend.
Ken
Mark your calendar for Oct 17-18 and join us at Gateway for our STL Region DE. We had 15 Caymans at our last DE and I'm sure your car would enjoy our NASCAR banked oval section

That's more like it. The DSR's laps make the corners disappear.
I sure hope the Audi guys are tolerant with the off track excursions.
I might help them practice flag awareness, since it might be wet.
Most off track excursions are at turn 8, or so it seems... just remember stay left until you are next to the weeds growing between the pavement cracks, then turn in...
