Roll cages and roll bars

Where can I get more info on this cage? Specs, etc?

In case anyone else was wondering, I talked with FVD. Heigo makes a weld-in cage for the Cayman. FVD has not yet sold one. It does NOT just add pieces to the roll bar/harness bar I have from them now.

It's about $1500 and is FIA approved. It is different from the cage pictured earlier in this thread.

Re: Proposed CaymanSpec Racing Regulations - Please Comment

I gave serious thought to getting that bolt in roll cage setup from Heigo via FVD. Ultimately I was a bit concerned about the safety of a partially bolt in/partially welded cage. Also shipping was several months.

In speaking to my local race shops they were all against it and were quick to comment their cages would stand up to a crash much better... Their concerns were the lack of Nascar style door bars, and nothing going along the underside of the dash leaving your legs open...

FVDs response was that it's used by Porsche motorsports in other countries so it must be good. Still have their e-mails handy if anyone wants different pictures.

Re: Proposed CaymanSpec Racing Regulations - Please Comment

I have started this thread to move the roll cage/bar discussion items out of the Cayman Spec racing thread - they do not belong there.

Re: Roll cages and roll bars

Examples of some nice removable side bars made for a Noble in agreement with the SCCA GCR specs.
