Tell us more about the car, specs, Engine modifications to prevent oil ingestion issues, better lubrication and tell us about other modifications like suspension etc. Please post more pics.

LSD - Limited Slip Differential
|
 |
A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.
The main advantage of a limited slip differential is found by considering the case of a standard (or "open") differential where one wheel has no contact with the ground at all. In such a case, the contacting wheel will remain stationary, and the non-contacting wheel will rotate freely– the torque transmitted will be equal at both wheels, but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle, thus the vehicle will remain stationary. In everyday use on typical roads, such a situation is very unlikely, and so a normal differential suffices. For more demanding use however, such as driving off-road, or for high performance vehicles, such a state of affairs is undesirable, and the LSD can be employed to deal with it. By limiting the velocity difference between a pair of driven wheels, useful torque can be transmitted as long as there is some friction available on at least one of the wheels.

Re: My New Cayman s Race car Finally done
drill 4 holes in the hatch and use an L shape as support, but remember this is are race car, i wouldn´t do that to a street car, although mine is street legal.

Re: My New Cayman s Race car Finally done
Ferrita exhaust huh? Not familiar with that one. You say the car is street legal so I presume you're running at least 2 cats. Is this a complete system including headers? Of course the most important questions; How loud is it and what does it cost?

Excellent.
Have you had any power steering failures or oil ingestion issues?
Any problems with oil starvation? How may hours on the engine? Any oiling modificaitons other than the sump extension?
If possible, please post pictures of the inside of the car, specifically the roll cage mount points.
At 1250 kg you have removed quite a bit of weight from this car. What components were removed?
Cheers,

Re: My New Cayman s Race car Finally done
I live in sweden,
i race against 964 cup and 993 cup and 994 turbo cup, 4 kg /hp.
Classes are diviveded in class 1 6,5 kg/hp, class 2 5 kg/hp, class 3 4 kg/hp, class 4 3,5 kg/hp and last class gt3 cup car class. All cars start at the same time.
Haven´t had any steering problems, how do they occur ? Lack off PS?
The car is a US import to sweden this dec 2008 that have run 21800km.
Runing standard headers with org cats 2 of them.
In rear i had some massage off the fenders due to heavy compressing.
It´s not a paint job it´s wraping.
Hopefully i answered all off your questions, be happy to send more pic´s

Re: My New Cayman s Race car Finally done
Wow! Not to much left to strip to save weight? Carbon fiber components next on the list?
