PCA Announces 10% discount for track insurance.

Received an email from PCA National earlier today:

PCA is pleased to announce a new member benefit program for its members. We have entered into an association with Lockton Affinity who has created a Driver Education insurance program specifically tailored for our members. In addition to providing this coverage, Lockton has agreed to offer exclusively to PCA members a 10 percent discount on HPDE insurance premiums! For most of us using this service, the savings will more than pay for our yearly PCA membership dues!

Here's a link to more info.

I received the email also, then proceeded to email questions to the insurer. I suggest that anyone interested in such coverage contact the insurer WAY ahead of an event to find out if they will issue coverage for it. They told me they do NOT cover autocross or time trials, for example. Make no assumptions!

I have access to AM Best Insurance Co ratings and I can't find a listing for Lockton Affinity. The Insurance Co I work for will only place coverage with a companies rated a or better.
Just something to consider.

I don't know much about this stuff. The Lockton Affinity website for the PCA HPDE Insurance notes the company is rated "Excellent or higher" by A.M. Best. Is this a lesser rating than "A"?

You may want to look under Lockton Risk Services. According to their news release, they are the world's 10th largest insurance broker: http://www.lockton.com/Resource_/New...usinessIns.pdf

I have been using them for the past year. Their HPDE website is here: PCA - HPDE Insurance Program

Re: PCA Announces 10% discount for track insurance.

I followed the links and found that the event I am attending at the Glen with CVR is one of the events they will cover. For the heck of it I put in the blue book numbers for my car and the fee for me for the 2 day event was around $250. There is supposed to be another 10% discount for PCA members once you apply.
This doesn't sound like a bad deal..

Ok, They are a broker so they sell other companies products. Some companies create special programs and have the larger insurance company underwrite the risk.
