Re: New File Posted re Tire Pressure and Brakes

The file is posted here in the files area under Cayman Documents, misc. However, when I tried to look at it in the conventional way, it did not appear. When I looked under "my files" I found it but it was marked "unapproved" Maybe a moderator will check this out and advise

Re: New File Posted re Tire Pressure and Brakes

The file has now been approved. You need to go to the File section, select Cayman Documents, and then scroll down.

Re: New File Posted re Tire Pressure and Brakes

BillL223 thanks for the great article. I do have one question. Should the tire pressure thats marked on the plate be for cold or hot.(i.e. tire pressure 30/37 before going on the road. After driving for a bit pressure goes up by 3 psi. So do I set the temperature 3 psi less so when the tires gets to temperature it will be exact with the plate. Note this if for city/highway driving.

Re: New File Posted re Tire Pressure and Brakes

The pressures shown on the plate are COLD pressures. For street driving, they should be set cold at the indicated pressures and left there. For the track, the pressures will increase significantly, maybe 8-10# on the side of the car seeing most of the cornering loads. You would then bleed down to avoid an over inflated situation. I fould Michelin PS-2s happy @ 36F and 38R HOT. Running the front and rear that close will change understeer/oversteer relationships. After the event, cold pressures would be much lower and I would add air.
