whats the meaning of "getting sick of a light interior"

I've only had cars with a grey interior, but i pick sand Grey (which is more like sand brown) for my Cayman.

I asked my friend about my color scheme, mid night blue with sand grey interior, and standard leather. and he said it'll look classy from the outside but i might get sick of the light interior eventually.

whats does this mean ? is anyone here who is sick of light interior; and might be able to explain this phenomena ?

Light upholstery makes the interior feel smaller. I think it's related to light/bright paint making exteriors look bigger/bloated. I had sand beige on my 928, and was determined not to repeat it with the Cayman. Wound up with black on black, no regrets.

If ordering a midnight blue porsche with a sand grey interior is the biggest mistake you have made in life thus far, you should be counting your blessings.

Midnight blue ext w/ sand grey sounds great. Had a white 911 S with midnight blue interior - seats got TOO hot during the day (don't have the luxury of covered parking at work.) Our new 911 Turbo is midnight blue with sand beige interior, which is actually pretty stunning. And the CS on order is malachite green with sand beige. Esthetics + comfort.

Dark interiors do kind of "hide", extended into the visual distance, but you will feel it when you grip a 120 degree steering wheel.

I thought that traditionally, light colors make the space look bigger? Dark colors usually make an interior feel a bit more confining.

Anyway, my last 3 cars have all had a dark exterior contrasted with a light interior. Not sick of it one bit. The only problem is my SUV, which has a very light Ivory color interior. The sides of the seat bolsters get a blue tint from all of the blue jeans sliding in and out of them. However, the blue comes off pretty easy with an off-the-shelf leather cleaner/conditioner.

As far as I can tell, I will always get a light colored interior.

Light interiors do make a space appear bigger, it's because of light reflecting off the surfaces more.

Funny, I'm of the same opinion now. Used to be a fan of black interiors. Converted my current -6 from black to beige. All our vehicles are black n' tan.

Don't you find that light colored interiors cause glare on the windshield? Early on I had a GTI with a tan interior and the windshield glare was very distracting.

If you are concerned with a dash reflection off a light interior you can order a black dash top.

Unless you take very good care of it, a light color interior will always show a lot more wear than a dark interior. I have a midnight blue on black and it looks great.

I guess it really depends on what look your trying to achieve.

In my opinion if you want the real race car feel, go with the darker interior.

If you want the night on the town luxury look, is say you will luv the lighter look. Vik said it the best on the lighter interior "looks very european and classy".

I have a lighter interior and love it, but i do agree with "gmsracing" not only does it show the wear but also shows any type of dirt or grime that may accumulate over time.

Just to chime in again -- no of course not! Midnight on sand beige is genuinely nice. No call for regrets. For classy aesthetics, sand beige or natural brown interior with midnight blue, forest green, or dark olive exterior, really is tops.

I have the black standard interior in my Boxster (Atlas Gray) and the Sand Beige full leather in my Cayman S (Midnight Blue) The Black does hide dirt better, especially on the floor mats, but makes the car feel a bit claustrophobic. (The fact that Bosxters have less glass doesn't help, either)
It may be the leather package but I never get comments on how nice the Boxster's interior looks while I get compliments about the Cayman all the time.

thanks for you thought on the subject guys, i too like the the classy european look hence the color scheme.

it seems now i've picked the color combo that requires the most work, they say dark exterior shows up scratchs and light interiors seem to show up dirt, like you said.

But i can't think of time better spent cleaning it

i am midnight blue with black full leather interior--i didn't like the high contrast of the lighter colored interiors although i did consider the 2 tone gray and black--i am still very happy with my choice--had i gone red or yellow i would have picked a black interior again--with these colors the contrast to me is ok

I've a Midnight Blue/Sand Beige being delivered next week.

It's the same color combination as the Z3 it's going to replace. I've had that Z3 for 11 years and never got tired of either color.
